GV: 2201 sq.ft.

BLT:
Studio: 339 sq.ft.
1BR: 803 sq.ft.
2BR: 1152 sq.ft.
GV: 2044 sq.ft.

GCV:
Studio: 379
1BR: 865
2BR: 1257
GV: 2426

AHV:
Studio: 356 sq. ft.
1BR: 756 sq.ft.
2BR: 1125 sq.ft.
GV: 2174 sq.ft.

That's their problem not yours....unless they own the points. Old Key West, Vero and Hilton Head have the largest 2 bedrooms.

We own at OKW and believe me, the units are much bigger than you would expect. There's tons of room to spread out based on the unique configuration. We always go for smaller units than we would thik of for resorts in our home town or else where around the world for that matter.

Keep in mind the bathrooms as well, BLT I know has 3 full bathrooms in the 2BR.

Thanks all. We are both owners and split the cost of a 2bdrm, but since it is our trip and invited them along we picked the resort. Inlaws love OKW and so do we, but with three kids we love the location of BLT. Inlaws say they saw the room at BLT and the person giving them the tour said the rooms were smaller and that it really isn't "kid friendly" :confused3.

Well, every other DVC 2BR is smaller than OKW, but at least you can point out that BLT has larger 2BRs than every other WDW DVC besides OKW and AKL Kidani. Plus, BLT has a 3rd full bathroom.

And, part of OKW's space is somewhat less useful. Long hallway to MBR, and angles in general waste space (they can create longer views, but have less useable space - ie angled parking lots hold fewer cars)

That's the plan.

If you want BLT and it's your trip, I'd say it's your choice. If you have kiddos, then I think the proximity to MK is more important than the amount of space, and FOR SURE the 3rd bathroom trumps it. The only bad thing about BLT for you on this trip is that it looks like you might need to use the living room as a bedroom, and that might be difficult at BLT. Depending on the number of kids, I might suggest the kids take the second bedroom and maybe you take the living room so the adults would all have use of the living room when the kiddos are in bed.

I have to agree ...the 3rd bathroom is nice. But OKW does have a larger, more open kitchen living area which makes it a bit larger. Also I believe the master suite in OKW is larger. Location is big too....

Sounds like another interesting trip with the inlaws is on the horizen. :rolleyes1

I'm not sure why the tour guide said BLT was not really kid friendly. Except for TOTWL which doesn't have a separate menu for kids, the resort is just as kid friendly at BWV. I thought it had a nice kids water play area, zero entry on the pool and two slides, one for the bigger kids and a small one for the little ones or a handicapped person. The Community Hall was pretty nice to. It's an easy walk over the the CR where the CS is located and there is a limited CS at the pool.

The greatest asset is the walk to MK and no wait for the bus after the fireworks at night. :yay:

The even numbered rooms are slightly larger so if you are getting a lake view villa you could request an even numbered room.

My thought exactly. We like to go to 1900 for dinner the first night so being on the monorail makes that easier. Walking to and from the MK is a huge plus. MIL wants to go to HDDR so the boat to the campground makes that easier. They like the neighborhood feel of OKW and I get that, but for me the pros of the location far out weigh 300 sq. feet.

I also want to be attached to a resort considering the time of year. If one of those you know whats ( I refuse to use the "H" word) happens to hit, as much fun as it sounds to be trapped in a room with three kids I'd rather not. At least this way we can go over to the Comtemp. to shop and pin trade.

As for the sleeping arrangements. DD will be 8 and will probably just sleep with us. I will end up getting a toddler bed and a crib form abbf so master will be tight, but again I really do not anticipate spending much time in the master bedroom.

So you are looking at both a toddler bed and a crib with you in the master? I'm not certain that's even physically possible. The master is one of the areas that has a lot less space compared to OKW. I think it's even less than what you get at BWV or BCV and that some of BLT's greater size goes into the bathrooms and a larger living area.

All in all though I'd not have a problem sticking with BLT. We were in a Dedicated 2BR in Dec and have stayed in an OKW Dedicated 2BR also. I'd be concerned about the sleeping arrangements as you are thinking though.

Just an FYI so you have the facts. If an "H" did occur there is a very good chance you will be confined to your room regardless of where you stay. Certainly in the early hours as the storm approaches you would still have access to the main building but once the actual storm arrives, you will not. Also during that time stores and such will be closed.

And Disney enforces this.

So there are many reasons to pick BLT, but I would not pick it for storm reasons.

I not sure it will be a problem. We always had at least one of those in the room on one side of the bed. Now we will just have to put something on the other side.

Have you done this at BLT? :confused3
