Sq. Ft. Rooms @ Aulani long balcony vs. 'triangle' balconies

We're going to Aulani next May with DD and DSIL (sent them there on their honeymoon last year). We're trying to decide between dedicated and lock off, Ewa and Waianae, and angled or long balcony. I've searched here and other sites and can't find the answer re square footage. I assume the rooms with a long balcony are shaped differently than the rooms with the angled balconies. Is there any sq. ft. difference between the rooms? Perhaps there is no difference? What we're shooting for, if there is any difference, is the type of unit with the largest living/dining area. The size of the bedrooms/bathrooms/half bathroom are much less important. We need some elbow room! ;-)

As for the balconies, I've toured a room with the angled balcony but can't remember if the balconies are large enough for four people. DD thinks not (they had a one bedroom last year). I've seen pics of the long balcony and can't get a feel for the depth... they show the chairs facing each other, which makes me think they're very shallow. I know we hope to all be out there at the same time.

Hopefully someone here has some info that will help us decide. Heck, we can't even decide which view we want. I've got enough points to do ocean but have read enough to know that there are many beautiful views. As we'll be there for 15 days we're hoping to choose wisely - don't want to get sick of each other!

Thanks for any insight, advise, information you can provide.

I can only comment that you could get 4 on the smaller balconies if you sit on each other's laps or one of you stands. The only long balcony I've been on was the GV. The chairs could face out if you wanted to there and I'd guess it would be the same on the long 2 BRs.
Personally I think the space in the angled rooms living area is quite adequate for 4 but cannot compare to the other layout.

DH and I have stayed a studio with a long balcony and one with an angled balcony. There was more space in the room with the angled balcony. You had two full size night stands surrounding the bed in the angled balcony room but in the long balcony room, one side only had about a foot between the bed and the wall. I would expect the same would be true in a larger villa. But like KAT4DISNEY said the balconies are smaller. DVC only releases one square footage for villa type. I have never seen any other figures. You can find the square footages on the resort information thread. http://www.disboards.com/threads/dv...-room-info-floor-plans.3434753/#post-54156359

We had a long balcony in a dedicated 2 bedroom in the Ewa tower. It's very spacious and not shallow as balconies go. I want to say the depth is at least 6 feet, but of course I didn't measure. The living/dining area is on the small side. I haven't seen the angled balcony units, so I can't compare. We were 5 adults and 4 kids, a bit more space would have been nice but it wasn't too bad.

You are 4 adults? I think you'll be fine with the living area with either unit type. The angled balcony sounds small though, so if you want to all be on the same balcony maybe go for the long one.

Thank you very much, Everyone! This does help.

There are only four of us. We are hoping to have evening drinks on the balcony. Sounds like we need a long balcony. I wish I could remember the rooms but I have no recollection - we were shown the Grand Villa first and that blew me away. Again, thank you! I appreciate your taking the time to answer my crazy convoluted question. We're having a b/fast together today and we can talk about this.
