Spur the Moment type wedding

I am wondering if there is anything against a couple going in front of the castle or another great disney landmark and having a "spur" the moment wedding. Something quick like 10min. Don't mind the crowds and not looking to do a reception or anything and not planned or cordinated through the disney wedding people.

I am pretty sure you would get kicked out of the park for that, if a cast member saw you.

Anything you tried in the parks would be a very high risk, even in an out of the way area. Disney is very protective of it's weddings and if they suspected, or you were caught, you would be unceremoniously escorted off the property. You may be lucky and pull something off around the resorts, but it still carries the risk that you would be in trouble if a cast member saw you or someone suspected what you were up to and reported it. I can't imagine having your wedding interrupted and being dragged away would be a particularly romantic memory...

Couples save up and pay a lot for their Disney weddings, so it's also not a question that will win a lot of points here, as you are basically trying to get for free what other people pay a lot for.

Now, all that said, if you were to have a private ceremony in your hotel room, no one could stop you. There was a couple that posted a few years back about a small wedding they had on their hotel room balcony. So maybe look for a hotel room with a great view and then go celebrate in the parks?

Thank you and thats what I thought. My sister is considering a disney wedding but her and her fiance nor the parents have the $$$$ for it. We were thinking a quick here there done thing.

Depending on your budget, you can pull off a Memories collection wedding for $2,500.

Or a Swan/Dolphin wedding or even one at DTD can be cheaper options...

I think they would definitely stop the ceremony. People's definitions of "high risk" may differ, I don't think bodily harm is a possibility. I don't know what "in trouble" means but I very much doubt you would actually be "dragged away".

I bet you wouldn't even be "escorted off the property." I can't picture guards walking you to the property line and waving as you slink off into the distance.

I would never desire to have a secret, quick, under wraps ceremony in front of the castle, but I bet if I DID want to.....I could.

I got this from a cm who worked in the hub a lot at the mk. people do aaaaaaloooooot of things in front of the castle. if you walked up in tourist clothes, turned around and exchange a few vows in front of someone who can marry you, smooch and move on, they wont drag you out. come walking in the mk in a white gown, tux and a photographer and 50 guest, security may have something to say. even then they would most likely let you do it and sue you later.

No idea what Disney did afterwards. Obviously, in this situation, their official response isn't going to be, "We're going to revoke their ability to come to Disneyland forever!" At least not publicly.

I agree with what everyone here has said...you could probably do it somehow, but it comes at a very high risk. Do you really want to risk getting kicked out of the park, or having your visiting privileges suspended by Disney because you wanted to do something like this?

For me, in all honesty, it wouldn't be worth it.

I agree with the other suggestions that have been given--get married elsewhere on property, like Swan & Dolphin, and have a Disney dessert party. Heck--maybe ordain a friend and get married AT the dessert party. I'm not sure how that works out...you might be running the same risk. Regardless--I think if you're going to have a Disney wedding, you'd want to do it right. *I* would want to do it right, which is why I've scrapped and saved, and will continue to scrap and save for the next 9 months to pay for it.

There are nice options, even if you don't go"all out." I just probably wouldn't risk getting thrown out by having an impromptu ceremony.

I've heard of at least two weddings that were caught by Disney security. One let the wedding conclude, the other was interrupted. I only know the conclusion to one of the stories; the couple was escorted to the gates and their annual passes were revoked without a refund.

I don't really care what you or anyone else wants to do. If claiming to have had a Disney wedding is so important what you're willing to break the rules to do so, that's your prerogative. As I said, though, this probably isn't the place to look for support in doing so.

If you just enjoy causing a stir, might I suggest the topic of pool hopping on the planning boards?

Have you looked into the memories package? It's very affordable. That's what we are doing.
Or maybe a Swan wedding?

I know others have posted options on Disney property - but you could even get married in a location off property and then use Disney Dining and have a nice dinner with your family and friends to celebrate. You wouldn't be able to have a dinner in the park while in a wedding dress, but you could make reservations at one of the resorts or DTD.

I agree with the others - totally not worth the risk. It's your wedding, why rush through your ceremony and have the 'we might get caught' worry over your head!
