Hi Everyone! It's been so long since I've posted!!!!

I have a Spur of the Moment trip planned for next weekend :Pinkbounc WOO HOO :bounce: to the BWV for the first time (home is OKW).

I would like to hear from the BWV experts all the dirt! We will only be there for 4 days this time and I would like to know what the best thing is to see, best place to eat, what shouldn't be missed, how long the walk is REALLY to Epcot and MGM, what rooms I should avoid, .... tell me all about BWV!

Thanks!!!!

Enjoy your trip. Try Flying Fish Cafe. PS a must. Sitting at the counter next to the kitchen is fun if you like watching the food prepared and talking with the chefs. The chocolate lava cake, if they still have it, is their best desert.

Great for you!! Totally one of my favorite things about DVC the ability to plan a spur of the moment trip!! DH and I are having one next week as well. We will be staying at OKW just the 2 of us:)

We can not stay away from the Boardwalk when we are there, it is our favorite place in all of WDW so we plan on spending some time there. We have never been to Jellyroll's or had dinner at Flying Fish, and both are on the top of the list!!

Maybe we will run into you! Enjoy your trip!

Make sure to finish your day with a nightcap at the bellvue lounge, just past the bw lobby on the inn side. They have board games there for kids as well. The walk to Epcot is closer than to mgm, I recommend the boat to mgm during the day, and at night walk back. Palios is a great Italian restaurant located in the Swan. Have a great time.;)

The walk to Epcot is about 10 mins max, the walk to MGM is 20+ mins. The walk to MGM can be very nice especially in the evening, during the hot brutal mid day hours it can be less than enjoyable--take the nice air conditioned boat!
The Epcot resort area is home to some of the very best WDW restaurants, in varying atmospheres and price ranges. My favorites are: for a higher priced, fancy restaurant: Flying Fish, Shulas, and Yachtsman Steakhouse; mid priced, more casual atmopshere: Big River, Cape May Buffet; reasonably priced/very casual/fast food/desserts, etc: Beaches and Cream, Boardwalk Bakery & Seashore Sweets.
The Epcot resorts are a prefect place for spending a lot of time at Epcot and MGM, both parks have excellent restaurants, are the latest parks to close and have nightly entertainment. Both are a very nice place to spend the evening hours, which can also be extended to include some time enjoying the boardwalk or one of the boardwalk clubs. Both MK and AK and the water parks & DTD are bus transport from the Epcot resorts which for the most part is very timely and efficient.
As for which are the best rooms, whenever I have a standard view booked I always request a room by the tennis courts. It is one of the fartherest locations from the elevators but in all reality a max 5 min walk yields you a villa that has a view of the canal to MGM and the boats going by, TOT, the fireworks and sound of Fantasmic nightly, and assorted wildlife consisting of ducks, birds, rabbits, etc.
My favorite preferred views are of course boardwalk but I also like the quiet pool view. I usually try to avoid a main pool view, not that I don't like the scary clown, LOL, but this area is just not my cup of tea.
Enjoy!!

BWV is our home resort and we love it. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Epcot, 15-20 to MGM. Walking to MGM seems like it takes forever!!

We typically eat in the World Showcase when we stay at the BWV. There is a good ice cream shop call Beaches and Creme(?) in the BCV. Order the kitchen sink, it's enormous.

Enjoy your stay. We can't wait to go back this Oct.
