Chapter 5: “I’ve already signed this”

Tuesday, July 5th
Our friends have an appointment for a timeshare presentation. We offered to take their three daughters with us to the Magic Kingdom for the morning and then they can meet up with us for lunch in the castle at 12:20. They assure me they will be there by 12:00, no problem. I have made it clear that they have to be there, because Cinderella will be very upset if we are late.

Mom2 and Dad2 meet us in front of the Beach Club at 8:00 for the drop off and we are now traveling with 7 princesses. Yikes. Sister1 is an adult, technically. Sister2 is pretty easy going, Sister3 has to pee every five minutes.

Bus to Magic Kingdom, in the gates, head to Tomorrowland, “I’ve got to go to the bathroom.” Of course you do. Space Mountain, baby swap. “I’ve got to go to the bathroom.” Right. Tomorrowland transit authority. Astro Orbiter. “I’ve got to go to the bathroom.” You're going home tomorrow, right?

We decide we have just enough time to ride Splash Mountain before we have to make it to the castle. Moose offers to go check us in, cause with 9 we can’t all fit in one boat anyway. By the time we get off the ride it is 12:15. Eek! Full speed to the castle! I yell, “Run, fast RUN!” The princesses are not amused. It gets worse when I find out that Mom2 and Dad2 are not even in the park yet. Oh dear, the castle people are not going to be happy with us. They finally arrive, at 12:40, 20 minutes late, but magically we are still able to get a table.

Lunch was nice. We saw Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, and Mary Poppins.

Yes we are repeating princesses, which they themselves are only too happy to point out. When we hand Aurora the Imp’s autograph book, she says, “I’ve already signed this” and puts it down. I thought that was a little odd, until Cinderella and Mary Poppins said the same thing. (Mary Poppins decorated the "other" Mary Poppins signature, very nice of her.)
I guess they are supposed to look through the book and see if they have already signed??? Not that it really matters, Imp doesn’t need more than one Aurora autograph anyway.

We went our separate ways for the afternoon. Imp and I made the rounds in the shops, she took a very nice long nap in her stroller. We met back up with our friends for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, the highlight of which was Chip and Dale doing a Chippendale’s impression. Very funny.

Walked out of LTT just in time to catch the parade right in front and then strolled closer to the castle to watch the fireworks. Wishes always makes me cry. (Tomorrow we won’t have to stop at a bathroom every 5 minutes – this also makes me so happy I could cry.)

The princesses are availble at places throughout the parks for meet and greets. You have to ask at guest services (I think?) for a schedule of appearences. I personally HATE waiting in line in the heat for a picture and a photo, so we always do character meals.

We did not see all of the princesses at the castle when we had lunch. Who you see will vary, is not guaranteed and you won't know until you get there.

I think the Epcot princess lunch/dinner (Akershuss in Norway) is the only place you can see Ariel? and we were not expecting to see Cinderella at the Princess meal in Epcot.

As it turns out, we saw Aurora at every princess event we attended. Yawn. She's not my favorite.

The most surprising was Wendy (breakfast at the castle) - I didn't even know she was on the list of possibilities!

I know! What's with the " I already signed this" thing? We ate at O'hanas, then at Chef Mickey's and Mickey motioned to his "previous" autograph and then kept on walking to the next table! My daughter said, "we saw you yesterday in your hawaaiin shirt remember?!" I couldn't believe this new policy- we had to ask our server to get him back for a photo.... and I agree about the potty breaks- aren't they supposed to pee LESS is the summer because of the sweating and all?!
