Springtime Surprise Weekend 2025 (April 3-6)

Previous runners: Did the Womans tshirts have a different cut? I normally wear a Medium but am debating between the womans medium or the mans medium.

I keep hearing that it won’t be perfect, but I’m not sure I saw who actually had that response. I remember someone saying what you said, that the Challenge may be recognized.
It was probably me saying that. 🤣 But before the first year, I sent an email about that and did get that reply. And the second year, one of the race announcers asked who was going to go for perfect. But other than that, radio silence on that subject, as far as I know.

Yes, usually it is more fitted. And sometimes a v-neck.

I still have my email where they told me perfect would be recognized, at least for the Challenge. Who is saying otherwise? (Also, I assume that was just a mistake, but this is registration for the 4th Springtime Surprise, not the third.)
I first heard about it not qualifying for Perfect Status on a podcast. I then emailed runDIsney and got a response that indicated that they would not be doing a perfect status for Spring Surprise. I heard this a couple times on the same podcast. I sure hope you are right, with this being the 4th year (and yeah, I can’t count) that would leave us one year away!

I sure hope you are right!

Got in for my third Spring Surprise Challenge. I know they keep saying no perfect status for this weekend. But nothing wrong with being unofficially perfect! Gonna keep doing these for the foreseeable future.

Good luck all!
I wonder if the “no perfect” thing was because originally distance and course was also going to be a grab bag but since it seems it’s stuck with a 5k/10k/10m/19.3 challenge model the 10m/19.3 “perfects” will be acknowledged in 2026

Im technically perfect in the W&D 10k and Springtime 5k

I think it has more to do with the post-Covid changes. Why would they offer perfect status? Pre-2020, I was able to sign up for Dopey or Wine and Dine months after registration. Some races never sold out, and Disney had an incentive to keep people coming back and signing up for more races. Now that each race is a guaranteed sell out on registration day, how does it benefit Disney to offer perfect status to runners? That’s additional cost of a different ribbon, logistics of handling the perfects, etc. They did away with age group awards, kids races, a lot of the smaller expo sellers, basically anything that didn’t contribute to their bottom line. The races were always a gimmick to drive park attendance and hotel stays during traditionally slow times—W&D: post Halloween, pre Christmas; MW: post New Years and school resuming; Princess: after MLK and before Spring break.
