Springtime Surprise Weekend 2025 (April 3-6)

We are all packed. 3 am wake up for a 6am flight tomorrow. We have been getting up and going to bed earlier for a few weeks now. Picked up some liquid IV and will try it out walking around Disney tomorrow.

Wow, Marc is going to be moving it for 5 minute intervals but since that’s my goal I’ll see how that works I guess. The forecast says PR is a bad idea but I am a stubborn one so nothing ventured nothing gained.

Wrapped up a run in full sun, feels like of 87… toasty. Thinking ahead to maybe doing some resort pool time over race weekend, I dipped my toes in our unheated pool - yeah, NOPE. Still too cold for me. Definitely will be using my UV umbrella everywhere though.

SWA flights from MSP and MDW got cancelled, so we booked on SunCountry for about the same price, about the same departure time, but it's direct, so now we get in about 3 hours earlier

SWA finally rebooked the flights, but we're going to talk to someone to get refunds when we get to the airport tomorrow

I have mixed feelings on the heat. On the one hand I don’t like heat. On the other hand I tend to race better in the heat. So I am naturally conflicted at the moment

Woke up to sleet & rain, my car said 35 degrees when I left the house; I can’t believe I will go to sleep tonight after a 90 degrees afternoon. I am both ecstatic and terrified. Thank goodness for runDisney race start times!

I'm packed and doing a few hours of work this morning before my 2pm flight. I connect through LGA and so far things are looking good to arrive about 9 tonight.

I'll be at the expo for the extra early entry for CrD Platinum, but I'm still not sure if I'm buying any shoes. I wasn't in love with the Minnie design but I suspect they will drop previews today. If they haven't by the time we're let in for shoes at 7am, I'll try to grab some pics and post.

It was in the teens here overnight, but two days ago it was 65 and two before that we had six inches of snow. So while I don't mind a little consistency, I'm not looking forward to 90+ just yet!

Freezing rain warning all day here.. school buses cancelled.. 0 celcius (32F) colder with the windchill.. chance of flurries later .. thank goodness we don’t fly out until Friday morning.. 48hrs and we will be making our decent into MCO and it’s glorious weather

I really hope that 10K is light grey, but strong overall!

At least it is four distinctly different colors this time! I love the color of the 5K shirt, but not doing that race. I think the 10K is white but also kind of hope it isn't as white is NOT my color.

I also love Disney magic: when I landed 3 hours earlier than originally planned, I immediately got a text that our room wasn’t ready, but by the time we sat down on our Mears bus, I got the magical text that not only was it ready, I got exactly the room I requested!

Surprised they didn't go with with red or black for the 10 miler.

I'm convinced sometimes that the printers just print the wrong shirts on the wrong colors. Like, for Disneyland, it would have made so much more sense to switch the 5K gray shirt with the 10K red shirt because the designs popped better on the opposite color. It's like the printer messed up and runDisney was like "oh well." An orange shirt for the 5K makes no sense when the graphic design literally has orange in it.
