Spring...when is best to visit ???

DH and I are wanting to visit DL next year. We will have about 10 days of which we will spend 4 ( Mon-Thurs. most likely) at DL. We would have to make the trip in the spring and I was hoping to find out which times were best in the months of April or May. How is the weather then? How crowded? Thank you so much for any info you can share with me.

The first week of May is best.

All of April is busy with spring breaks.

Also, for the past two years, DLR has run ticket specials that end the last week of April. While you can save money by going by then, it is more crowded.

We've gone the first of May for two years and found both the weather and the low crowds to be lovely.

Keep in mind, however, that if you go M-Th, you will most likely miss the Fireworks and some parades, as those run only on weekends during the off-season.

So even in May we may miss some of the parades and the fireworks during the week? What about the first and second weeks of June?

Thanks for any help , this is all new to me. We have been to WDW several times but DL seems to be a whole new ballgame.

You might think about adding a Sunday to your trip. You can see the special events Sunday, and Sunday morning (at opening) at DL was so quiet and empty! It was even more empty than an EE day.

The best parade (IMO) at Disneyland, the Parade of Dreams, runs everyday, so you won't miss that.

I'm not sure about the events the second week of June.

The June calendar is up right now on disneyland.com. That will tell you what events are happening each day. It will also tell you the hours. Longer hours usually mean more events and more crowds.

Yes.

We visited for 3 days (about 3 weeks ago) & decided to go on Sun - Tue. (instead of Mon - Wed). We were able to watch Aladdin & the fireworks on Sunday.

For sure most of April & May the Fireworks (& Electrical Parade) will only be Fri - Sun. Also, Aladdin (which is a must see) is only Wed - Sunday.

Sounds like a great trip. 4 days in May would be a very cool time to go.

My vote is for May, it's the best time of the year to go, IMO. Late April is good, and usually late enough to miss spring break crowds, but I really just love May. Good weather, light crowds, and usually the refurbs are up and running.

Spring break and Easter are in March so the second half of April should be great. We went the last 4 days of April this year and still had fireworks and ELP, although you can never count on that!! I would think you are safe crowd wise from about April 17th and on, the only other day I would try to avoid is Mother's Day weekend!

Second week of June is good too! We were just there arriving on the 8th and we had fireworks and ELP every night. Fantasmic was down for refurb though!

We went last month on May 11-17th and arrived on the weekend to see the parades, fireworks, etc. then stayed into the week. It worked out great! Have a wonderful time!
