Spring Promo 30% off question

We will be at Disney for two weeks in May/June. Our current plan is to book a Disney cruise on the Fantasy for the first week(if we can get a last minute *GT rate) and the second week at the YC using the current 30% off Spring Promo.

Plan B(if we can not get a *GT rate for the Cruise) is to spend both weeks at the YC. Unfortunately we will not know if we can get a *GT rate until 60 days before the cruise so end of March. I do not want to wait that long to book the room incase we lose the Spring Promo deal.

So if I were to book 2 weeks at the YC using the promo room only 30% spring deal and then called back in March(if we are lucky enough to get the Cruise) to reduce the stay to one week would I have to cancel my current reservation and make a new one risking the chance of losing the promo offer? If the answer is yes, can I make two separate reservations 1 for each week using the promo?

Book the two weeks room only deal at 30%, but don't add the tix and make it a package. Then you have up until 5 days before arrival to cancel.

I think that makes sense, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I definately know I can cancel within 5 days with no penaty as I do not need the tickets(we will have annual passes). What I am unsure of is if I can change from 14 days to 7 without losing the 30% off part?

Not unless the dates are not within the promo.

So you are saying if the dates are within the promo I can reduce from 14 to 7?

I would book May 25th - June 8th(all within the promo)

If I changed I would change to June 1st - 8th(all within the promo)

If I changed I would not do it until end of March. At that point I doubt there would be any availability for YC with this Promo so I just need to make sure that if I change I would not have to cancel and rebook because I doubt I would be able to get the promo even if my dates were within the timeframe of the promo.

You will not have to cancel and rebook. Book the entire 14 nights now under the promo and then call back to reduce it down to 7 if the cruise works out. It's always better to book the maximum number of the nights you think you'll need and take nights away later (if need be) than it is to try and add nights later on (especially with a promo).
