Spring wouldn't be spring without hunting for crayfish.

Spring was still in the very early stages when I took this. It's popped a little more this week.

this is actually across the street at my neighbors, since I don't have any early spring flowers.

We always celebrate spring at our house when the "Timmy Tree" blooms. This cherry tree was given to us by dear friends when our now 21 year old was only 1 year old. And last Saturday, I was lucky enough to capture it in some wonderful early evening light - appropriate since this will be our last year in this house with this special tree (we are about to list our house for sale).

WOW!!! That tree is just lovely, and so serene.

Thanks duckyislost! We love this tree so much; in fact it is probably one of the very few things I will miss when we move to Pennsylvania!

Yekcim - I love the third one! Dogwoods are one of favorite blooming trees. I grew up with them all over our front yard and miss them so!

Thanks so much; I was very pleased with that shot (I've got tons more that are terrible, for various reasons).

I notice that this is your first post, so welcome to the DIS. Glad to have you aboard!

What a gorgeous tree!

Here are a few I have taken. Mostly my azalea's with a few friends. You can even see the lovely pollen is some of the photos. This stuff is everywhere right now.

Thanks! I noticed that you captured the cherry blossoms too! Our area never gets a long spring but while it's here, it's beautiful!

My favorite time in DC is when the cherry blossoms are in bloom (not crazy about all the tourists :) though). By the way - grew up in MD - Hyattsville to be exact.

MHolleman - I love your azaleas - just beautiful!

Here are a couple I just got this weekend:

Around our mailbox: (We didn't plant these, believe it or not...but they are keeping us from planting anything in their place (for the moment)):

DD (who, you'll notice, is starting to catch the photography bug from her mom and I) taking in the smells.

A couple little guys that are currently renting the space above the light on our front porch. :teeth:

At a guess, I'd say they're a few weeks old. Won't be long before they're on their way.

Small world - I was born in Cheverly, raised in Upper Marlboro near Andrews AF base and have lived in Montgomery County since 1971.
