Spring offer extended. What does that mean for fd?

it means that the spring offer deadline was extended

reading anything else into this is just speculation

In years past, have they run two promotions at once?

I know that I took advantage of two different promotions when I booked our May/June, 2011 trip. For the first portion of our trip, I took advantage of a % off room only reservation and then changed over to free dining after those two nights. I believe, but I could be wrong, that both promotions were running at the same time.

I don't know. I have been thinking that the March 1 date was more rumor than anything else, but I did get caught up in the hype and my hopes have been high for a FD release. Time will tell.....

Dang. I was really hoping for some pixie dust tomorrow.

Guess we'll keep waiting:surfweb:

Yes, they have.

I was a bit skeptical of the March 1 FD date release, because usually by the day before a FD promo is released the entire Disney Blogoshere is humming with info, and there just hasn't been that much hype yet.

Guess we will see what tomororw brings . . . .

This is correct. In years past shortly before free dining it was all over the internet. Generally if it's the day before and you still haven't heard Boo about it, then it's not the discount coming.
However, I've seen overlapping discounts many times, so don't lose hope. This just says to me they didn't get the bookings they were hoping for this particular time period and they are trying to bump those up before moving on to the next season.

My thoughts exactly.[/QUOTE

Hey Lisa-

You think the next round is going to be for after our May time frame?

My tax return is burning a hole in my WDW pocket, i want the free dining but if it doesn't come out, i'm going to AAA to buy my tickets (this saves me approx 60-70 dollars) and buying a disney resort gift card to use for our food(my budget is $600 less than the dining plan)

I did an online chat and then called to see if my mother's pin was still good. Both times, I asked about the next promotion and whether or not it would include our travel dates as I was looking for something better than what I am booked with. I was told to keep watching the Special Offers page because there was a possibility that I would be able to book something better. Having said that, I take what the castmembers say with a grain of salt but it did make my heart do a little flitter flutter. ;)

Where is everyone seeing that the spring offer was extended? Just checked WDW site and it shows it ending on June 14th.

Okay, now I see. The time to book this was extended, not the dates of the discount.

the offer is still the same, but now you can book it until the end of march instead of the end of april

I bet they could really start filling those rooms if they would just release FD for May and early June ;) They are already offering it via PIN, so if those rooms are just going to sit empty then why not.

You can't book the Spring offer online anymore so thats a good sign that something new is coming sooner rather then later. It says to call disney or your travel agent to book the spring offer.

That is a good sign IMO. It at least means they are playing around with the website.
I don't want free dining, but I still get excited when they release something new whether I need it or not. :rotfl:

Extending the offer means they didn't get the occupancy they wanted becasue business isn't as good as they thought. Which means free dinning will hang around this year.

It seems they really have scaled back their discounts, havent they? Room only offers a couple years ago were Save up to 40 or even 45%, not 30% being the max. 2 years ago my sister got 40% off BC in May with a GP offer, and we got 40% off AKL end of August. These offers not as good! Now we have APs so am really hoping for a nice AP offer!

I just read through an email from a TA and it says that FD is expected to become available for travel dates August 25 through September 29, 2012, opening to the general public on Monday, March 5th!
Guests who book a vacation package at one of Disney's Value Resorts will receive Disney's Quick Service dining plan. Guests who book a vacation package at Disney's Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villas resorts will receive Disney's Basic Dining Plan. Must book by May 18, 2012.
