Spring Direct Incentives 2/9-4/27

I sure hope they need some more quick cash for these expansions then 🤣
Dear Josh & DVC Leadership,

If you want to fire sale any more theme park adjacent flagship hotels (even if you’ve done a cheap flip to studios), especially to fund park expansions, we are more than happy to help you out.

They had already declared all of the points…. and the reason they flipped it to DVC was because they couldn’t fill the rooms.
Didn’t Disney declare half of BPK around February 2022 and the other half around June of 2022?

Fire sale timing is what I have been trying to point to. That seems difficult to associate with being fully declared.

Without the fire sale, they still sell out before Island Tower.

Because of that fire sale, we constantly see people expecting a fire sale for Riviera. If that happens, why not a fire sale during the last year of sales for every resort? It feels like a good way to make quick cash, but not a way to make the most cash. Difference of 1-2 quarters but earning % less.

I had a good chat with an OG guide and he said basically the VGF fire sale was a rotisserie chicken. They took a loss in order to meet goals and get an influx of cash when it was needed due to plans like reflections being cancelled.

This is all hearsay
well, I am a vegetarian but very glad I sampled this particular rotisserie chicken 😂 the advice on these boards during the VGF sale was that it was a great time to buy in direct at prices we were unlikely to see again ...really glad I found disboards when I did!

1000% this.

hadn't they done some other wonderful sales a year or two or three before the VGF sale?

like, wasn't there a really good Aulani or Riviera sale during COVID?

I think the really good sales happen where there are extraneous factors - proxy fights, a global pandemic, etc.

That seems to be what I've picked up too. Hard to see anything like that right now. Maybe something to help clear out RIV before LSL? But, they've got some more time for that - March direct sales showed quite an uptick for RIV, so maybe it really is as simple as telling the guides to push one resort more than the other.

I think there will probably be an AP discount in the next incentive period just like there was last year to coincide with the VIPassholder days coming this summer.

Of course there will be because my AP expired 10 days ago. You're welcome AP holders who are looking to buy.
