Spring Direct Incentives 2/9-4/27

He is very short and very to the point, he would not be on board with so many phone calls and emails, trust me I know. I just dont think you would like him so it wouldnt be beneficial to even start a guide relationship with him. Also, you could never see him in person for tours like you have done with your other guides in the past. He is strictly virtual.
this is exactly what I want in a guide. My guide is similar, Gib McCain. I don't need a happy birthday message or a reminder to bank my points. He did leave a message on our room phone, though, during our last trip saying he'd be at PIT if we wanted to swing by for a tour. Gib is very direct and gives me information promptly when I need it, and that is really all I am looking for.

Unless you have plans to buy direct again, a guide really isn't necessary. With that said, I know others feel differently and prefer a guide that is going to give you the warm and fuzzies. I am sure others on the boards have some great recommendations that could be a fit for Girlstar!

I was not asked to show proof either, but did give my Disney VISA number for the deposit and scheduled payments so maybe that is why.

I was never asked to show proof of my D23 Gold Card either.

We have to show a screenshot of the gold card. But used our Disney Visa so didn't have to show any other proof for that one.

As for the guide conversation - I had a FL guide assigned to me when I initially inquired about DVC before purchases resale. He was....okay. Then when we visited VDH, we met a guide there and really liked him so officially made the switch. But he was out of town when we wanted to purchase so someone else helped us. I feel bad about that but oh well. I think we still have the same guide though, and not the one who sold to us.

But honestly, both our guide and the guide who sold to us seems great. Maybe we just got lucky? Or maybe we just aren't picky. 😁

I think i might need one right now, i am not sure, I am just patiently waiting to see who will adopt me 😔

Unless you are buying direct again you dont need a guide. They do nothing after you sign and pay. At least I didnt talk to mine after signing. He will call occasionally and try to sell me some points at VGC but nothing else. A guide is just to sell you not to do anything else along your membership.

I think there are just some better fits for some like VGCgroupie said. My experience with Cali guides has been that the ones ive met are more from a timeshare background and interested in a high sales volume where my florida ones truly love Disney (my guide has a stitch tattoo and my other guide in fl owns at cfw) and thats who I prefer to be with.

...and even then, most of us here on this board don't really need anything in particular from them. For my purchase, I told my randomly-assigned-by-the-phone-people Guide: "I want to buy guaranteed week X in unit type Y at resort Z. In addition to the developer incentive, I believe I am eligible for discounts J, K, and L. I would like UY <Month>, and would like to take advantage of Magical Beginnings for the first year. I will be not be financing, but would like to spread the payments over two billing cycles so I can put it all on one credit card."

I think they had never sold a guaranteed week before, so they had to talk with someone about that, but fine. WIthin a day or two, I had the quote in my inbox, and started the process. I later told them: "My goal is to be the easiest commission you will ever make."

The response? "You're a funny guy!"

They did later check to see if I had banked my first year's points using the extended banking deadline, and I reminded them I sold those points back. But I appreciated the gesture.

It looks like you can thank the Phoenicians for your direct purchase!

Yeah…Bill is probably not a good fit here! He’s honest, efficient, smart, and transactional. That’s perfect for me. Maybe not perfect for someone who is Pixie Dust prone!

I toured with a really nice guide at Poly named King. She (yes, she!) was great and might be a good fit. Unfortunately I can’t find her card and forgot her last name.

If her last name is Triton Im going to need her info immediately.

What do you mean by pixie dust prone, it sounds nice but not sure 🤣🤣

Remember above when the poster said they stopped reading the thread and couldn’t figure out incentive information because it was becoming about just one person’s purchase….. could I politely request to redirect that discussion to a thread of its own…..

A thread specifically about guides might be a good idea.
