We just got home yesterday after a week stay at Port Orleans Riverside, myself, DH, DD5, DD2. I was apprehensive after reading posts about how crowded and busy Spring Break would be and wanted to post our positive experience (YMMV). We had a great week, but Saturday was our most productive day. We went to MK (crowd calendar 8 and non-recommended on EasyWDW). Rope drop was at 8AM and we were there by 7:30. Here is what we did:

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Splash Mountain - *was only a 5 minute wait but I didn't want to get wet so early in the morning so we chose not to ride*
Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle Cruise
Magic Carpets
It's A Small World
Haunted Mansion
Tomorrowland Speedway
Buzz
Astro Orbiter
TTA
Mad Tea Party
Winnie the Pooh
Prince Charming Carousel
Watched the 12:00 FOF Parade
Took monorail to Polynesian for lunch at Kona
Took taxi back to room for 2 hour nap
Took bus back to MK
Talking Mickey M&G
Tinkerbelle M&G
SDMT - FP+
Prince Charming Carousel
Peter Pan's Flight - FP+

At this point we had planned to stay for Wishes and use our last FP+ at BTMRR but there were tornado warnings in the area and we chose to head back to the room before the rain began. Anyway, all that to say that we had a fantastic day during a busy time and I would not hesitate to go back during Spring Break.

We just returned saturday from our Spring Break trip. We had to go that week because my DS's band marched at the MK on Thurs 4/9. We got a lot done using the EMH. It was crowded but with our FP+ in place and getting up early we got a lot done. Even the band who stayed offsite and made their FP+ 30 days ahead of time got to see and do a lot. It went better than we thought. Was very scared of how crowded it was going to be but it went well and we had a great time. Still don't know if I would pick spring break to go back if I got to pick the dates.

Same with us! We were there with DD's softball team for Disney's High School Spring Training. We stayed at All Star Sports from Monday 4/6 to Friday 4/10. We rocked our 3 park days using EMHs, touring plans and FP+. Even though it was crowded, I rode and saw everything I wanted to; and the longest wait I had was 35 minutes (Jungle Cruise at 9:15 AM on Tuesday).

I've been reading a number of positive experiences of spring break trips this year; glad you all had a good time! We've never gone over our kids' spring break but since older DS is in jr. high now, summer/breaks are basically when we'll be going. Doing Thanksgiving this year, but all the positive reports are making me think maybe spring break next year :thumbsup2

I returned Saturday night after a weeklong trip with two adult daughters who are schoolteachers on their spring break. The crowds were quite large in the middle of the week, but we spent Saturday morning and early afternoon at Epcot before heading to the airport. It was much less busy than it had been earlier in the week.

Then we went to the airport and spent 2 hours sitting on the plane before takeoff waiting for the severe weather to clear.

I am planning to put together a report about how we planned the trip and how we took advantage of early openings and late afternoon/ early evening FPs to do everything we wanted. It was a great week.

I am a believer in arriving 30 mins before rope drop...there is so much that can be enjoyably accomplished before the throngs arrive. So happy to hear your spring break experience was magical :)

I also think it is wise to take opinions as to best/worst times of the year with a block of salt (way more than a grain) because you know your family and what you are, and are not, capable of. It's very subjective. A good plan and a good attitude make all the difference.

We were there April 1-10 and had a great time, too! We'd go back during spring break again. The weather was great. We did 7am EMH several times which was worth it. We got so much done in those early hours. Between early EMH and FP+ we did everything we wanted, sometimes multiple times. It was a great trip! We were so worried about the crowds.
