Well, I just want to say that my family and I are now spoiled for campgrounds for life. We had one of the best, if not THE best, vacations ever. Thanks for all your advice and answering questions on this board!

Easter Sunday we worked all morning (at churches) and then packed up the rest of the car. Our bikes were a little precarious on our new bike rack, but made it okay. We spent the night at the Marriott World Center thanks to Priceline and had a great view.

We checked in at about 10 a.m. And got our requested loop 1500! It wasn't ready for a few hours since they had been full on Easter, so we got our bikes off the rack and headed to check everything out. We ended up biking all the way to Wilderness Lodge, which none of us had ever seen, and it was very cool! I LOVED the bike trail to WL, pretty much deserted and really pretty. We ate at Roaring Fork, quality QS for sure.

Then the long-awaited horseback ride was on the schedule. My 9 year old HAD to ride the same horse he had last time, and he happened to be working the day we got there. So DS had a nice reunion and we all had a nice peaceful ride.

That night we went to the singalong and s'mores, and it was SO much fun. We were the weirdos "murdering" Peeps, and they were very tasty. SeeingWishes that night from the beach was just so awesome.

I forgot to mention that on this trip we were not going to any parks, except the water parks! And it was kind of great to not have to worry about times, fast passes, etc.

Anyway, Tuesday we hung out by the pool most of the day and the kids played the pool games. Then we took a short drive to POFQ and had another one of our must-haves of the trip: gluten free beignets!

Then we rode the boat to DTD and ate dinner at Raglan Road. YUM. Plus Irish dancing and a band, even at 6 when we went! So glad we had reservations, the line was stunning when we left at 7:30.

We rode the boat back to POFQ in the dark with a lit up DTD, and then crashed early.

Did I mention our neighbor was a pig?

His name was Melvin. He did not seem to be offended by the mass quantities of bacon that we eat while we're camping.

Chickp,

Glad you got 1500. Hope you can share pictures of your campsite. Checking in early on a Sunday and being willing to wait for an open site can help you get the loop you want.

Melvin the pig must have been in 1600 loop. Oh well, that's a good example of a true "pet" loop.

Thanks for the pics. Melvin hugh, looks just like my neighbor's pig, but his name is Porkchop. It reminds me of the post somewhere way back where somebody posted a pic of somebody elses pet skunk they had at the Fort.

Pretty cool.

Wednesday we went to Blizzard Beach in the morning and Typhoon Lagoon in the afternoon. They are selling a seasonal ticket online where you can go to both water parks in one day, but when I called because the site was acting up, the CM knew nothing about it and was even a little insulting, saying that clearly I had no idea what I was taking about and would have to buy a park hopper. Anyway, I ended up buying it online and all was well. We had never been to either of the parks and had a LOT of fun. It really wasn't as crowded as I thought it was going to be and we loved the family rides and the amazing TL wave pool!

Thursday we took the boat to MK and then rode the monorail to resort hop for some air conditioning, shopping, lunch, and a Lapu Lapu for DH And I. I got this shot passing under the track near the contemporary.

My kids were impressed with the poly upgrades. They begged to stay there once they saw the new volcano pool, which was definitely open for business though the rest was under construction still.

And for the long awaited site and squirrel pics....

Site 1507. Wish I was still there! As you can see, plenty of room for a giant tent, a smaller tent, and a 10 x 10 shelter.

Oh and the pig was on the 1500 loop! Not sure about that technicality, but he was definitely an attraction for everyone who came through.

I asked my son yesterday when he thought we should go back to the Disney campground, and he said, "uh, tomorrow?" I think that's what we all thought.

Our last night, we did s'mores again and watched Maleficent, which th skids had seen but DH and I had not. SO good, and loved the outdoor movie. We brought our own chairs and just settled in. What a lovely way to end our trip.

Hope you enjoyed my brief trip report and thanks again for all the tips.

Thanks for the pics and the time to tell about it. Glad it all seemed to go well.

Great pics and TR. I'm not sure I could go to the Fort and not go to a park though.

This may get me kicked off the Dis, but I actually didn't miss the parks this time. :scared1:

We knew we weren't coming down to do a park vacation (we did Harry Potter and MK a few months ago) and it was soooo nice to just enjoy the resorts, which I feel like we never have time to do if we're going to parks.

That is actually a very common sentiment on the Camping Board, chickp. ::yes::
