Spring Break/No Express Pass - Worth it?

Decided last minute to hit one Orlando theme park before our Disney Cruise next week and we have it down to Universal or MK. I know both parks will be packed, but during spring break week, is it worth doing Universal (either park) without express pass? I feel like Fast Pass at MK is the only thing that could get us on a fair amount of rides and if we go to Universal we'd be spending most of our time in line all day. I'm not a Universal expert, so I'm looking for advise here! What would you do, Universal or MK? Thanks!

I think this week is worse than next week will be, but if I was speaking of this week it would NOT have been worth it to be at universal without express pass. It was insanely crowded Monday and Tuesday while I was there.

This week and weekend is beyond insane..Next week shouldn't be as insane as this week is, but it is still going to be very busy. Both touringplans and another crowd calendar for universal rate crowds 8 out of 10, with crowds not dying off till sometime late next week/weekend..You will spend a fair amount of time waiting in lines for things.Express passes are priced at $59.99 ( price goes up with projected crowds.this week and the end of the week they are priced at $99.99),I would do MK personally ,and I love Universal, but I wouldn't want to go without Express pass

With the insanity of Spring Break crowds, how many fp's can you realistically expect to get? Maybe 2 or 3 at most? I would just go to DTD or find the bucks for ep at UO. To me standing in lines for hours on end is no fun, even at UO or WDW.

Maybe you could try to get into Chef Mickey's or something like that?

If we did MK, we'd do rope drop at MK on Tues (4/2) which is listed as a good day by EasyWDW. We'd ride everything we wanted at least once before crowds show up at 11am, then we can use a couple fast passes. So based on what you're all saying, I'm thinking I was right and we'd be better off to hit MK at rope drop, then head over to DTD late afternoon and for dinner. Thank you everyone!

I was at IOA on Tuesday this past week and hit rope drop with my sisters. We were able to do everything we wanted early in the morning, but it got very crowded incredibly quickly. About noon when we walked by the Hulk, the wait time listed was 185 minutes...
