Spring Break At Disney!

Well two and a half weeks after our trip, I have decided to start this trippie. (Also with much harassment from my homies )

So here we go.....

Day of Departure!

So I get up on Fri. morning and get ready for school. All I'm thinking is "make this day go fast!!" I had been counting down with my students and they all knew about the trip to Disney.

The day goes by.....let's face it, no one wants to be in school the day before vacation....I made it a video day

2:33pm rolls around and by 2:36pm, I'm in my car driving home....

So I grab the few items that are left to pack and we hop in the van and are outta there by 3:45pm (ahead of schedule! ) (We were driving down)

If any of you complain about rush hour, come to NY and try to get off Long Island on a Friday afternoon before a vacation. It's an experience to say the least!!!

So we continue on and then hit Delaware.........3 hours of traffic!!!! It takes like 30 min. to get out of there!!! ullhair:

So we drive through the night, wave past South of the Border, and hit FL by 11:00ish.

We made it to FL!!!!



Sorry about the lack of pics......but we were driving in a van, not much fun with all the traffic...

First full day in FL (kinda)


We stop at Denny's at around 10:30ish...Denny's is a tradition for us and its our first taste of FL (there are no Denny's in NY )

We eat...and if there is one thing about me, is that when I have a drink, my bladder just seems to fill up!!! So after we left, we had to soon stop at Wendy's.

We saw the new Smart car and just had to get photos!

So we continue on and by 2:00ish....we arrive in Orlando!!!!

Now, we are a little different then most Disney fanatics. We NEVER stay on property. Not that the places aren't nice, we just find it more affordable to stay off property (my mom is a bargain hunter!).

We have a Timeshare at the Sheraton Vistana which is literally, 5 minutes away from Disney. Let me tell you, the place is FANTASTIC! We have a two bedroom sweet and private balcony overlooking a fountain and lake.

So we unpack the car and decide to take a walk around the property. Some of the local natives were there to greet us...

And of course, we needed to look at the beautiful flowers (I'm buying a house so I need free artwork :cutiepie: )

We went back to the room and decided to take a trip to Walmart. I LOVE Walmarts in Florida...they have everything!! This one had a SONIC in it and I LOVE their cherry slushies. So the family grabbed some cool drinks and shopped for the necessities....soda, snacks, bread for the ducks, etc...

While we were out, we decided to grab a bite to eat (it was some sort of fast food) ad headed back to the room.

We must have passed out by 10 pm!


Day 2 @ MK and EPCOT: Pecos Bill's, Complaining really does work, and "my dad is on crutches and you want us to park where?!"

Oh yeah, Penny is fixing her hair, isn't she? I was wondering how she was going to take pics of her, MOH, self. Good luck with that multi-tasking Penny. BTW, where's Penny's version of the trippie? Katie's got it going on.

The resort looks really nice. Great pool for the kiddos too!

Day 2: First day at Disney!

We get up at 7 am (rather slowly). Eat a quick bowl of cereal and head out to the Transportation and Ticket Center. So we start to drive into the lot with all of the hundred of cars and begin to turn down an aisle. We asked the attendant what we should do with my father. My father recently got an awful heel spur and had to use a crutch to keep the weight off.

We had seen that we were being directed to the END of the aisle (the furthest away from the tram). So, in the spirit of Disney and pixie dust (NOT), he said we could drop him and drive all the way. WHAT?!?!

Now listen, I was not asking for much, even halfway down the aisle would have been great, but ALL THE WAY?!?! How was he going to get back there?!?!

So we did what they guy said (what choice did we have?). We caught the tram and headed to the Monorail. I love the monorail. It is such a unique feeling and smell.

So soon later, we arrive at the MK. As we walk in, we see this:

It was cute, but we wanted to GO, GO, GO!

We walked down main street....actually thinking how cool it will be for the MK photo shoot

We head to Frontierland...a tradition. Splash Mountain always is the first. The ride is classic and I love the ending. Always gets me in the Disney spirit!

My sis wanted to keep getting photos....we all wanted to go on rides. So she was annoyed because she wanted to snap photos...so we let her get one of my bro:

So we hit up Splash Mountain, then Thunder Mountain. We see the Dream Squad at the end giving out fast passes....sigh, no passes.

What kind of a DISer are you? Don't you know that pics/trip report is far more important than getting on some silly ride? We may have to revoke your DIS license. Or strip you of your tags. Or something.

Day 2 Continued.....


So we finish up with Frontierland and head to Fantasyland. While we walked over, we sent my brother to run and get Fastpasses for Buzz Lightyear.

Of course as always, we hit A Small World...

Then off to Peter Pan (why is this ride ALWAYS crowded???)

We also spotted a Hidden Mickey!
