Spring Break 2018. When is yours??

I was going to say watch out for policies within your district. Our district has always been after 10 unexcused absences you go to truancy court. Two years ago they added on if you miss 4 days unexcused in one marking period you automatically get a 59 in that class. I think that's more to deter kids from cutting class since they specifically noted "class."

I used to pull my kids out for 5-6 days to go to WDW but then it just became more of a headache. Especially when they had a minor illness and I would have to call their pediatrician for a note because I didn't want to be in danger of hitting those 10 days unexcused.

Exactly! Our policy is very similar. Plus my guy likes school and routine and gets upset when he "misses out." So pulling him out is just not in the cards for us right now!

Schools in my area don't get a Spring break. They just get a few days around Easter off (but most are used for snow make-up days). However my daughter's high school marching band will be at Disney April 4th-7th. They will be marching at the Magic Kingdom on April 5th. There will probably be about 120-130 band members. Probably another 50 or so parents and siblings. They are staying at on off-site hotel. My youngest son and I will probably fly down on Easter and stay on-site. My son and the marching band did this 2 years ago the week of Easter too. It was only crowded at the MK. I got there for EMH and was able to ride a lot of rides before the crowd got there. I stayed on-site that year too. The band did not. They also did not get their tickets until the night before their first park day. I added my son and his friend to My Experience. I was able to get them all the same fastpass's that I had (within the same time window) except for 7 dwarfs. They only went to MK, HS, and AK. On the HS day they got their at rope drop and they went to RNR and was able to ride it a couple times in a row. At AK they were there at rope drop and this time they rode Everest 4 or 5 times in a row with no wait. With planning we had a great time. It was one of my favorite trips. Next year though Easter is a week earlier than what it was in 2015. I don't know if that will make a difference on the crowd levels or not. (My profile picture is of my son's HS marching band. I was at the train station.) I can't wait to see my daughter and her best friend march down Main Street.

My sons senior trip to WDW will be the week of March 12. They go for 5 days.

Our district is 3/30 - 4/6/18 in the NJ suburbs of NYC, but I know a fair number of people in my area (each town has its own school district, more or less) who have either the week before or after ours, as well.

I'm in Eastern Pennsylvania and we only get the Thursday and Friday before Easter and the Monday after. Not enough time to do much unless we take them out of school for a few days. With one going to high school and the other to middle school, I don't see that happening now.

SouthWest CT here! We are always the 2nd week in April. So that's the 9-13. Looking fairly good for us crowd wise based on these posts!

SE PA (outside Philly). Our "break" is more like a long weekend - 3/29 - 4/2

I will also tell you that, in PA, the standardized testing takes places during mid April- 1st week of May and many schools don't allow students to be absent during them, so you won't see a big crowd from PA at least!

Privates in the SE PA area are on break from 3/23/2018-4/2/2018.

We are headed down to Disney during this crazy crowded time of year only because DS is playing baseball for his high school team at ESPN otherwise we wouldn't go near the place week before Easter

I am not complaining ~glad I can afford to take my family and enjoy but I wish it weren't that week.

Our county in north central Florida is March 9 - 18 .

Syracuse NY area - last week of April 2018 (23rd-27th). Starting to dream/plan now! In 2016 easter was at the end of march and our break was end of april. we went that week and it was great weather and very 'doable' crowds.

We're probably neighbors. I'm just outside of Syracuse as well and those are the same dates for my son's spring break. I'm hoping this may actually be a good time to go!
