Just wondering how many people calld MS today to book Spring Break 2009 at the 7 month window. If so, how successful were you with availability and what type of room were you able to confirm?

I can't speak to the 7 month window, but I made my ressie's at a home resort (AKV Jambo) at 11 months. I did call MS about a month ago to see if I could change it to a one bedroom (as opposed to the studio I have) and there was nothing available. But....I wouldn't give up hope, if at first you don't succeed try try again :)

Good luck

Our spring break starts April 10, and I was able to get our 1st choice - VB. However, when I went to book the flight, would couldn't use either FF miles, or a free companion ticket. So moved our departure to April 9. Called back MS to change the VB ressie to April 9, AND IT'S SOLD OUT OF EVERY CATEGORY.

We Got Ours Today!!

I am sooo excited! We got our 2BR @ SSR w/ Developer Points For April 12th through the 16th! I am so psyched- It took awhile for me to get through to MS and then because Developer Points she had to put me on hold as they are doing those ressies w/ a different system- But we got it- :woohoo: We got It! We got It!
My DH doesn't even know yet because I had to call from work! Oh! & the absolute best thing... This trip will be a major surprise forour kids- They only know that we plan to go in July- Have no idea we are doing a Spring Break trip! WaHoooo! :cool1:

Our Spring Break is March 15th. I called at the 7 month mark and was able to get a 2bd at OKW. Wasn't surprised to get the room but was surprised that they had lots of HH area rooms. 182 days to go!

Interesting...We weren't looking for a 1BR, but rather a Studio, and when I called 10 days prior to the 7 month window opening up (AKV is our home also) I was expecting zero availability - but got all 6 nights without a problem in a Dedicated Savanna View Studio.:thumbsup2

We had made our reservation online at 10 months out for a studio at SSR for 4/9-4/17. We called at the 7 month window to try to get into a studio at BCV but were unable to book as the first night was not available. They were showing the next 8 days with availability. After a bit of confusion, we waitlisted for just our first night. We were not able to waitlist 7 days because of said availability.

Called back the next morning and were able to book 4/10-4/17. Still no availability on the 9th. We did have to rebook our reservation for the 9th at SSR because they cancelled it when they booked us into the BCV. Did that with no problem. We are still waitlisted for that one night.

I booked at the 11 month window at SSR but changed to VWL on the 10th. We are going April 10-17. Iam a little afraid of Spring Break because of te crowds but with a high school student going during the year is going to be more difficult. I had no problem getting a 2 bdr dedicated at VWL for that time period

Thanks:banana:
Judy

We booked at 11 months out for a studio at SSR, but I did call earlier this week to see about the availability of at AKV (savannah view). There was nothing available when I called but I was put on the waitlist for Apr 7-12.

Our break is actually the week before Easter ... we called last week at the 7 month window and got a studio April 3-9th at BWV with no problem. Maybe DVC'ers shy away from high points and crowded times?

It sounds like people are having very good luck at the 7 month window. :thumbsup2

We booked a 1 Bedroom at BCV at the 7 month window for 8 night at the end of March with no problem. My first choice was BWV Value but those were booked. We are happy.

We were able to get a 2 bedroom at HH at 7 month window for April 5-10

I called yesterday (Sept 11th) at 3 pm and asked for a 1 Bedroom at the Beach Club checking in on Saturday, April 11th (day before Easter) and leaving on Friday, April 17th. I was pleasantly supplied as well as the agent that the entire stay was available. Looking forward to staying at the Beach Club for the first time. Our home is OKW & SSR. Earlier in the year, we stayed at Boardwalk for Easter/Spring Break in a 2 Bedroom that we booked at the 7 month window. We are staying this New Year's Eve week at SSR in a 2 bedroom which we booked at the 11 month mark.

We have been members for 12 years and have never had problems getting reservations -- never used the waiting list.:confused3

I called in the afternoon after I got out of work for HH, the week of 4/12-4/17 and nothing was available for a 2 br. Has to waitlist the whole week.

I called on Thursday AM and was able to get 4/11-17 at SSR in a 1BR using developer points.

Was super happy that there were no problems. I was worried since that is our spring break and we decided not to have DD miss school for Disney this time around.

jmcdonnell04 - Very interesting that you never had to use waitlist, especially during peak times. Do you think that the computer system used to allocate rooms and determine availability gives folks who have been members a long time a higher priority than newer folks? Curious...

We bought in when our DD was 1-1/2 so we often went in October and early December because school was not an issue and these were not popular times for the general public and DVC back then. We are more fixed to the school schedule now with DD(13) and DD(9). We do call at the first day at the 11 month or 7 month windows. This included a GV at OKW for Easter 2007 calling every day and adding each day at the 11-month mark.

I do not believe length of membership matters. The only perk to us old-timers is that we have had the opportunity to enjoy DVC for a longer amount of time.

We booked at BCV at the 11 month mark for March 25 -31 (1 bedroom).

The only problem we have is the wait:rotfl:

Booked VB at 7 months to the day for 4/8-4/12 for a GV Inn Room with no problem, then had to call back a few days later to book OKW Studio for 4/12-4/15 and got that as well. My Wed-Wed is a little odd so maybe that helped. From what I see now though on the Resort Reservation Availability Thread, looks like VB is unavailable in all cats for the night of 4/9.

I had originally booked at 11 months at SSR and had no trouble switching to BCV at the 7 month window. But our spring break is the last week of March so I did this a couple weeks ago.
