Spring Break 2009 in Ca

Can anyone tell me when the schools are off for Spring Break in Southern Ca and the San Fran area? Looking to avoid crowds.

They really are all different. Even within our school district they are different depending on if the school is year round or traditional or modified traditional.

To be honest, I have to agree with Pixie. The spring breaks are soo different everywhere. They used to be either the week before or the week after Easter, however that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. They are all over the board just in CA alone, not to mention Nevada and Arizona breaks too. I mention those because they are close and a lot of AP holders live there. I planned a March trip in 07 and I asked the same question and everyone told me the same thing. You would think all the schools in one district would be the same, but they aren't. I wish we could be more specific and help you out.

I am from Southern Cali and usually our spring breaks are the last week of march to the 3rd week of april it's around that time but some districts are the same like pixie said. My spring break is the 2nd week of april. hopefully this helps.

I am still wondering how crowded it will be March 30- April 03? Last year, it was crowded to the point, that I was not a happy camper. But then I had not payed attention to the simple fact, that it was also the week of Easter!
The year before, I visited Dl. during the same time frame. It was a little crowded, but it was o.k. for me. It was not the week of Easter, though.

Thanks to everyone for the great advice. I was planning a one day trip up from San Diego on my birthday April 2nd. Seems like it it should not be that awful. We have been to Disneyworld numerous times and would just like to see what the CA version is like. Any idea how late the park would be open on that day(Thursday). Website has not released the April hours .

I checked the calender for my girls and they actually have a week off at the same time. DD9's vacation is a lot longer tho because she is in modified year round. So, she has 2 weeks off where DD12 only has 1. Anyway, their break is 4-10 thru 4-17. That's counting the weekends. We may try to go somewhere in there for a few days but I'm not sure yet.....
