Spring Break 2006

How busy is March spring break at DVC and the parks? Does anyone happen to know when March Spring break may be for 2006?

There is no one set week for spring break - the colleges and schools all have different weeks. They generally begin President's week and run until the end of March.

Are you asking about the Easter weeks? If so, Easter Sunday is April 16. That means the week before and the week after will be Premier Season.

My (college, UC) spring break begins on March 19th. We have a Carnival Cruise planned, something else to look forward too.

I was really trying to figure out the least busy time in March at DVC and the parks. Typically we have gone the week prior to President's week and that was confortable. We were thinking of pushing into March in hopes of slightly warmer and consistent weather (hopefully sunny & warm) but still hoping to miss the bulk of the crowds.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

the first week of March

spring break goes from President week to the middle of April - lately it has expanded into the first week of May.

some schools give a winter break (feb) and a spring break (april).

I'm interested in the answer to that as well. I just made a reservation for March 5-10 prior to attending Twins spring training. Hopeing that first week wont be awful!

I'm seriously thinking of spring break at WDW. Our spring break will depend on when NASCAR schedules the local race. The schools base their schedule on that. It's not announced yet.

In the midwest many of us have a fixed spring break the last week in March, which never changes. Believe me, I am not happy when Easter hits our week, the points needed are just unbelievable!! You can't even find airfare at a reasonable price--This year I could have flown at $870 per person, but that's just over-the-top, so I went the first week in March instead. It was chilly and somewhat rainy, but I understand the weeks before and after we went were really warm.

Many of us in the Chicago suburbs are off the last week in March too. We usually go this week, and it's been busy, but not horrible. But when it coinsides with Easter, forget it. Went to HI last minute this year, cheaper than I could have flow to FL!

Our spring break is the last week of March.. the parks are crowded but not terrible.. although the drive is really crowded with everyone headed in the same direction.. we'll be on the cruise and then head into the parks for the weekend

Most of TX has their spring break March 11th - 19th. (We made our reservations yesterday!!) Although some will have it the week before or the week after. I think the first week in March is probably the slowest week.

Like Bobbi said....classes end at my daughter's college in Western Massachusetts on Friday the 17th and don't resume till Monday the 27th.....and for most colleges in this area also.

Our break used to be the last week of March and it was fine.. then the teachers voted for Easter week to be their break - we went on that week ONE TIME and never again... NEVER! I hear that they've now switched to the first week of April... so I will book that for next year - - at least it won't be one of the two most popular ones.

Our spring break is usually the second week of March - both for the public schools and Colorado State University. Next year it is March 11-19 and we are planning on going to WDW. I think the crowds build through out the month of March, so the first week will have the lowest crowds. We went this week in 2004 which was not bad. However it was the week of Orlando area schools spring break, so it did get busier as the week went on.

my DD at Rowan university in Glassboro nj is march 10 next year and my DS at county college is march 3 and their friends at other schools in are different weeks in march also many high schools go on class trips in march

We went to Disney World last year for spring break. We stayed at The Grand Floridian and it wasn't that crowded at all. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Ours was the last week of March. We used those fast passes alot and that helped a great deal!
