** It's been awhile since I posted the prologue, day 1 and day 2...they are on page 3 I believe if you want to read them :)

Sunday - April 1st 2001 (April Fool's Day); MSEP Glows away :(

Another day begins...and we are a bit slower out of bed this morning! The late nights are already starting to catch up! But it's Magic Kingdom day, so we are all excited!! The four of us head to the bus stop and jump on a MK bus! We arrive around 20 minutes before opening...we walk under the train station and find a very long line waiting to go in to the building to the right (can't remember the name). It was very odd that so many people would be lined up that early for something! We soon found out that three new pins were coming out that morning...MSEP pin, April Fool's Day pin and the April pin. I really hope those people had season passes...because I would NEVER have waited in a line like that just for pins when I could be riding Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin!! :D
Anyhoo...we had decided to hit Tomorrowland first because...it's cool! :) Stephanie was excited, yet nervous about riding Space Mountain...Alex couldn't wait to get on Buzz Lightyear...Cathy and I just enjoyed their excitement! We hit Buzz first (since everyone else was RACING to Space Mtn after the rope drop!) and we got on right away. We all loved it! It seems that either Stephanie or I got the highest score that time...we are all in the lower levels though (Space Cadet maybe?? or Space Scout?? Can't remember).
Afterwards, it was time to head to Space Mtn. Alex had decided he was NOT brave enough to do Space again (he did it in June) and Cathy was not interested at all...so they headed to the Speedway. Stephanie and I got the Space and there were tons of people milling around...but no line! We were a bit confused. Apparently it was not running yet (?). So we grabbed fast passes and walked back to the Speedway. We watched Alex take off and he really enjoyed his drive! I did see alot of rearending going on and thought it looked a bit dangerous! Afterwards, we headed back to Space so Stephanie and I could ride...we walked right on with our Fast Passes and were in our seats within 15 minutes of entering the building. The ride was as thrilling as ever! I still felt like my head was going to hit something LOL...but I really love this ride! It's loads of fun!! Stephanie was sold on the roller coaster and had decided she had to hit all the "thrill rides" this trip!!
After Space...we hit Buzz again, Carousel of Progress (seemed to wait in line a long time for this!!), TTA (nice break from walking and never a line), Pooh (fun!), Peter Pan (this ride gets cooler everytime we ride) and Small World!! We had missed Small World in June, so this was Alex first time riding. He thought it was boring...but he did think his little sister would have loved it!! We skipped alot in FantasyLand...Alex just had no interest! We had done pretty much all of it in June and he enjoyed it...but without his sister, he was ready to move on!
We went through the castle and went towards Adventureland to do PoC, Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Room. Alex was excited about PoC until we actually got there...then he started to get nervous! This is one of those rides that is really "iffy" with young kids. He grabbed my hand and held on to it until the ride was over...but he did say he liked it (just didn't like the skeletons). We headed to Jungle Cruise next and we got the BEST CAPTAIN EVER!!!!!!! His name was Adam and he was a RIOT!! I never laughed so hard in my life!!!! I think he only works weekends, but if you can get in his boat...do it! We had so much fun on our cruise...I wanted to go again! Next was the Tiki Room...I never saw the original one...but I think this one is fun!
We were all getting pretty hungry by now and so we headed to Pecos Bills (where else would we go??). Alex and I both had burgers and fries, Cathy and Stephanie both got Chicken wraps (they were HUGE!) and fries. I love the fixins' bar and I love the fact that they have cheese for our fries! YUM! Best Burgers in Disney World!!!!
Alex and Cathy both wanted to do Splash Mtn...but I was not ready (not good with drops) and Stephanie was a little apprehensive again. We walked over and the line was pretty long, so we grabbed fast passes. It wasn't long until the afternoon parade and Alex and I wanted to see it...so we decided to meet back there for the fast passes a little later. Alex and I grabbed some ice cream and waited for the Magical Moments parade. Two high school bands came before it...one of them was the football rivals of my high school (I still clapped for them LOL). The parade was not all that thrilling. Alex had no interest in going out and participating...actually most of the kids who did participate seemed to be 2-5 years old. It was fun and cute...but not something I would rush to see again! We still had time before our Fast Passes...so we hit Jungle Cruise again...we didn't get Adam this time...and the girl we did get was not nearly as good! She tried though.
We headed back to Splash and Stephanie and Cathy looked like they had never left. They both seemed worn out. At first Steph wasn't going to do Splash...but I told her that she MADE her mom go on Dinosaur the day before, so she HAD to do Splash! LOL On the other hand, I didn't ride (yes I'm a big chicken!!). They got off and Stephanie and Alex were ready to go again!!!! That would have to wait though. Cathy was hot and tired and wanted to take a break in their room...Stephanie decided to join her since we were just heading to the shootin' arcade. So we said good bye and went our separate ways.
I really wanted to go to the Haunted Mansion...but Alex REALLY didn't!!! So I bribed him (bad mom!) I told him I would give him $5 for the shootin' arcade if he'd ride it with me. He did...and was nervous the whole time!! He did get through it though :). It was dinner time and people were already lining up for the first MSEP. We decided to grab dogs and fries from Casey's corner and then ice cream for dessert from the Plaza Ice Cream parlor (is that what it's called??). The sun was setting and the castle looked gorgeous...it was a great evening! It was one of the many times that I was so happy Alex and I were able to come!
We finished our ice cream and headed back to Buzz...grabbed fast passes and jumped on TTA! This quickly became our favorite ride! We saw glimpses of the first MSEP going in front of the castle!! We headed to Buzz again, and I was quickly climbing the ladder...I think I was a Ranger 1st Class at this point :D
We headed to the bridge to Tomorrowland to find a spot to watch Tink and the fireworks. We talked to a few people around us...but mainly just talked to each other about our day and our plans for the next day. Tink flew and the fireworks were spectacular!
Now it was time for the FINAL MSEP! We had quite a bit of time...but we were pretty tired...so we walked to the front of the castle and sat down on the curb facing the castle. Perfect seats!! We ate ice cream and chatted with our "neighbors" and just enjoyed the atmosphere! When we saw MSEP in June, we were 5 "rows" back...being up front is way different!!! You really get to appreciate the floats and how they work! I loved the way each float had it's own "sound"...especially the little bugs! It was neat to see them upclose and get a better idea of how they work! We thoroughly enjoyed MSEP!! And we were sad to see it "glow away" :). We slowly exited Magic Kingdom...the crowds were not really that bad! We watched a bus leave our bus stop before we got there...but another came in 10 minutes and no one had to stand! Alex and I were so TIRED!!! He fell asleep on the bus and we both were asleep within minutes of reaching our room! It was a wonderful day though :)

Tomorrow -- Typhoon Lagoon and "It's my birthday and I can eat all the ice cream I want to!!"

Sounds like a wonderful day.

most favorite things to do.......one day......five times on that one......love it......thanks for posting your day with us
