Spring Advantage 2012

What exactly happens when you are waitlisted? Are the odds decent for you eventually getting accepted or is it basically Disney saying we don't want you, but we'll take you if we get desperate?

OK Guys, This is the deal. This blew up on FB this morning and afternoon. A few got accepted, a few rejected, and many people have been wait listed. I am currently still in progress. Here is what I know

1. Wait listed is not bad. It is similar to still in progress. Someone called disney this morning and they said it isnt bad but doesnt give you a leg up. so relax.

2. Many lied about being accepted. Be careful. They scared a lot of people.

3. One person was rejected that I know of. It happens. Keep in mind that not everyone will make it.

4. It may take longer than the 2 weeks because of the new system.

That is all I know. That is what I heard, so I can not 100% garauntee it is fact. I do know though, that no matter what happens, we have all made new friends, become stronger, been supportive of each other, and we can always apply again next semester. I personally am very excited for all those who will be accepted, sorry for those who wont, and hope to god that I am of the accepted group. But not everyone will get in and that is ok. Just breath, relax, and try to enjoy your day!

Edit: 2.5 hours later and my dashboard is still empty. Growing a bit concerned now, but will try to sleep anyway.

Edit 2: Back to where I started yesterday, "In Progress"...

...... wait list! -hyperventilate- I know it's because they have me down that I'm auditioning for a character and if I make the audition I have the job, but I'm still kind of terrified that I wasn't accepted automatically. sighghghgHGHH.

Just to make it clear again.

This new system has everyone freaking out! I was worried at first cause I thought "Wait list" was the new "pending" lol

@Unicorned- My interviewer explained that, if you're accepted, you'll probably get that email first (that you got accepted and what role you're accepted for). After that, if you make the audition, they'll go back and change it so you're probably not Waitlisted for that.
btw, it's stuffaleecelikes from tumblr!

Hi! ❤ + I guess in that case I'm fine.

Just got an email saying that i am pending and will know by december 19th of their final decision. FML ARE YOU EFFING JOKING ME!!!! I would have rather been rejected. -_____________________________-

I just got one too ;3; It's really disappointing.

And December 19th is way too late! I have to register for spring classes in early November!

I was looking at the DCP FB page, and it seems like EVERYONE is getting pending, MAYBE they are pending everyone? and then going from there? and its says by december 19th, but it doesn't say that it is around december 19th? Maybe some of the pendings will turn into acceptances/rejections sooner than that?

Did that make sense? o.0

To those worrying about classes in the Spring in case you don't get accepted: At most schools, you can register for classes for the Spring and not pay for them until near the end of the year, most likely after December 19th. If you find out you're accepted into the program, just cancel the classes. This makes sure both ways that you have some kind of future secured.

As for me, this is my first year applying and my phone interview is in a few days. I expect to also be put into the 100+ days pending category, even those I got "Very Strong Candidate" on the web interview. I'm pretty sure most people got that unless they failed the web interview.

Before getting scared or angry about the dates, think about your options fully. Talking to a school counselor about the dates and how they conflict can also give you some ideas to make sure you're set.

Take a breath, relax, eat some dark chocolate (it's good for you, packed with anti-oxidants and endorphins), and you'll be fine. Even if you don't get accepted, it's not the end of the world. For anyone who thinks this is your last chance because you're graduating, think of registering for just a fun class at a later date. Ceramics or a sports class is a fun way to gain some extra experience or just find time for meditation while you're waiting to apply again.

I hope this helps anyone who is suffering from Disney-anxiety ^_^ I hope to see some of you in Florida!

It's going to be the 19th for everyone. Thats pretty much the drop dead date for their offices. Any later than that and NOONE will have time to plan.

I know it isn't the end of the world to wait, but December 19th seems a little nuts...You get a couple of weeks to accept of decline Disney's offer, and you'd think Disney would want to have a more accurate count of how many people they'll have sooner than a few days before we start showing up! I know how soon I find out matters to me personally if I go or not. I have other things to plan for besides classes!

Housekeeping for the Spring. :)

All the best to everyone, thank you for all the info on preparing for the process. To those yet to hear, and to those who are pending, hang in there; good things come to those who wait.

Those who won't be joining us right away, I am sure each and every one of you will have the opportunity to make the magic happen. Keep up your studies, keep up your extra-curriculars, and never stop following your dreams.

The Force will be with You. Always.

Congratulations, Ikcerog! That's so exciting! :cool1: Was housekeeping a top choice for you? I know you and your interviewer decided against character performer, but you said something about transportation?

It's great to hear that actual acceptances are going out. I still haven't heard anything, but my Thanks for Interviewing email did say three to four weeks, not two like my interviewer said and I've been clinging to. Good luck again to everyone still waiting like me! :cheer2:

Was housekeeping a top choice for you?

Thank you :) And, well, since I indicated it as High Interest along with Transportation and probably PhotoPass, she did ask a question during the phone interview to which I gave probably my best answer, about how arriving back at your room should feel like "coming home," I think that sealed the deal.

I also feel like this is a great get-in-the-door role; prove I can be reliable and exceed the demands of the position in order to advance to what I'm more interested in *cough*Monorail*cough*. Lol

Many thoughts for everyone yet to hear, yourself included, and to everyone who applied/will apply for 2012. Such a great wealth of knowledge amongst the posters here.
