Continuation of the story...

So First thing this morning I called the recruiting office to explain what had happened the day before. The guy who I explained it to said that the people who were in charge of the DLR recruitment were out of the office and should be back by noon, so I said I would call back after that.

I tried calling back at about 1ish when I got home from class and explained the situation again, this time the first person I talked to said she couldn't find my application information at all. This began to frustrate me because I have now applied twice. How can you not find my information? After putting me on hold for a few more minutes she came back and said that she had finally found the info and that it was stored under Disney world or something like that instead of for the DLR. Anyways she said that she already had all of my forms in order that she could reschedule another interview. Great. A few minutes after I get off the phone she calls back and says that she cant find my info again and that she wanted to transfer me to the person in charge of the web interview portion. After waiting on hold yet again another person comes on to whom I explain the situation one more time. She seemed to understand what had happened and said that I would need to talk to somebody else, (I had been transferred to so many different departments by this time that I don't even remember what she said) but that she was not in the office so I would need to leave a voice mail message explaining what had happened. So I said that would be fine and I was transferred to her voice mail and left what I can only imagine is a pretty confusing story.

This application process is turning out to be a nightmare. I only hope I can get this resolved as quickly as possible. I had hoped to be done with everything in the first week so I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

I hope I am able to look back on all of this and laugh in the end but right now I am getting pretty frustrated with the whole thing.

Wow! I have never heard of so much trouble with the application process! If they don't resolve things to a point where you can proceed, I would just ask if they can clear your info from the computer so that you can start again...

This entire situation is quite strange...sorry you have to deal with it! Goodluck!

Thanks guys. If I havent heard back from the lady I left a message with by mid day today I will call back and see if they can just erase record of me having applied so I can reapply. I guess thats the only thing I can do. I have a feeling they will say they arent able to do that but I guess its worth a try.

Everything worthwhile is always worth the try! The worse you can ever be told is "no". And even then, there are ALWAYS exceptions... Good luck!

This whole situation is just wierd! I wonder why the computer held onto your previous stuff because I haven't heard anything from other CP alumni about this happening to them when they re-apply. They're probably just a little confused about what to do because the situation is pretty rare. I seriously don't think it will be held against you though because it's not your fault. Hopefully they will straighten things out! Keep calling and let us know how it goes

I'm so glad XD This whole situation is so frustrating but it sounds like everything is getting straightened out. Tell us if you are able to finish the application tomorrow

I applied for the Fall 08 program but I was too late, now I want to apply again but I keep hearing alot of things and I am very confused.

I heard there's supposed to be a code at the end of the E-presentation.
Is this true? I've watched it several times and nothing comes up.

Also on here I've read that people do an online application, I havn't seen that anywhere. Is that only after you fax in the application?

And are you supposed to call to schedule a phone interview or wait till they call you? I've heard both.

This is all just one big mess for me and I don't want to mess it up this time. Please help me!

After watching the E-presentation you should have access to a quick facts page which will outline the important parts of the program; on the top of the page there should be an E-presentation completion code. Have you watched the whole 45 minute program all the way through? There should be something at the end that leads you to the page with the access code. You can choose to have the code emailed to you as well.

It will look like this page (i've blanked out the completion code)

Make sure you have reviewed the role checklist as well. You'll need to have that handy for your interview.

YOU have to do this, they WILL NOT call you first. You will call and set up an interview for later in the week or the next week etc. You will need the completion code for the interview as well. Once you've actually had the interview you will then need to fax them your application (even though you've submitted it online you will need to do this) and you will need to send them a hard copy of your application in the mail. This is because they need your physical signature.

Does it make a difference with the Disney CareerStart Program? That's what I'm trying to get into and the link took me to the CP.

Okay guys. I've been thinking, I already told my interviewer the rides I was interested in doing and I know they don't guarantee anything but is there another way to really let them know you want that role? I was thinking about how much I would LOVE the GMR or Haunted Mansion. I know they say they put it in your "file" or whatever but from what I understand they don't place you until pretty close to the program. Do they just say they're putting you somewhere and then randomly place you? I wish I could stress how much I want these certain rides! Sorry, i'm just getting excited XD

So I just tried it a few minutes ago and it didn't work. Still said my SSN ID had already been used. Grr.... This is so frustrating

Are their offices open today? They might not be because it's sunday. Call first thing monday morning and tell the person on the phone to reset your application and don't hang up until they do! Stay on the line until someone gives you some results. Sheesh, this isn't even happening to me and it's stressing me out

Yeah, they aren't open today or tomorrow but I will call first thing Monday.

so speaking of completeion codes, i didnt get one at the end of the e presentation either so i was a little taken aback when my interviewer asked for one and i was just like i watched it but i didnt get one. she was like ok and we resumed the rest of the interview but is that a bad thing? what happens if u dont have one? am i not gonna get into disney because of that? i know its seems like such a small thing but im spazzin over everything!

Your browser probably just timed out or something; forty-five minutes is a lot of time to spend on one internet page. I'm sure you're not the only person they have interviewed that has said that. Besides, everything will be explained in the packet and the rules and stuff are pretty much going to be drilled into us as soon as we arrive. You'll be fine! Relax. Now that your interview is over you have nothing to be nervous about. Packets should be arriving maybe by late next week or the week after.
