What about worrying about grandpop showing up in a pepper shaker in the Grand Floridian concierge? Sorry, couldn't resist... it's my warped sense of humor.

Boy, this is the biggest response I ever got to a post! Illegal or not, DH knows my wishes. All the money we have spent down at WDW, it's only fitting that I use it as my burial plot!

Well, hopefully, it won't be for another 50 some odd years! But, I think I'd like it in 7 Seas Lagoon & a little near the castle. The first time I saw the castle (at the age of 30), I cried!

I love the garden area near Canada. One of my favorite things to do it sit there before the WS opens and just enjoy the sun and the peace and the beauty. Why not just do it for eternity? DH has asked me that 100 times! "Are we just going to sit here for eternity?"

I would ask my family to take me on the Ferryboat and scatter me during the ride over to MK, so I can bask in the sunshine on the lake forever.

To the OP, thanks so much for initiating this conversation. Several things were brought out that I always wondered about, but didn't quite know how to ask. And it's glad to know that I'm not the only one seriously considering this! DH and I are going to have an interesting discussion at our house tonight!

Scattering ashes is MESSY if there is any breeze at all. I found that out the hard way when the wind shifted direction on me while I was standing on the side of a mountain scattering ashes. A lot of my brother ended up going down the drain in my hotel bathroom, when I had to wash all of the ashes off of my hair and skin.

If you're going to try to do a stealth scatter anywhere, do it by teaspoon-size amounts. Any more than that and it will be noticed. Trust me on this.
(I actually had permission, but it was a public place, and when the wind shifted other people ended up catching some of the blowback. Not fun to have to apologize for.)

I'm sorry, I just had to laugh... not because of the situation, but because this reminded me of the wedding prep secene in American Wedding (American Pie 3) where he shaves for a surprise and it gets out the window and onto EVERYONE and every thing.

Also, to the person who beleives that human ash is sanitized... It's very heavy and greasy... not something I was prepared for when I took my fathers ashes out to the Gulf of Mexico on a cruise with the Us. Coast Guard. Because my Father was a Navy man, they allowed us to do it from their boats, and helped with everything... I still remember it vividly

Probably from scattering inside the greenhouse at EPCOT. They do say that most of their fresh foods and spices come from there. Ok, this is a far stretch... but it was a bad attempt at bad humor.

I have explicit instructions on my "burial" so to speak. I am to be cremated and my ashes spread along various points IN WDW! It will be a FAMILY trip, and has to last 3 nights and 4 days. HOW they spread them is UP to them, this is just in case I pass before my time.

Me and my DH have talked about this as well!!!!!!

I told him I wanted to be scattered in the moat around the Castle!!!
He wants to be in Bay Lake in front of the WL cause he loves it there so much!

I have posted this on another link...but I will do it again. Some of my Uncle Chuck's ashes are at POTC. When you get to the jail scene...just say "Hi Uncle Chuck" I do everytime I go down there.

When my uncle (great uncle) passed away, his siblings and children each got a trinket box with a portion of his remains. My cousin was cleaning and accidently knocked theirs off of the mantle it was on. Not sure what to do...her and her mom came up with a solution. Pick up as much of the "ashes" as possible and bring him to his fav place...to his fav ride and let him rest there. For some reason they thought that my grandmother would be motified by this and it was a big secret for a few years. After she found out, she was fine with it and we would have to go and say hi when we were there. If I was going to WDW without her, she would remind me. I would think on POTC it would be easy to do because of the darkness.

I don't mean to question your knowledge, but that sounds like the Deluxe cremation. What about the Value cremation? I'm fairly certain we rented my brother's casket as he wasn't going to need it for all eternity. I suppose it's too late to call back and apply an AP code now....

I couldn't help but think about having toddlers at WDW and how they put everything from dirt to sand to who knows what in the mouths when you are not looking. Now that thought is really creepy.

Ironically Dizzy, not only are we on the same page for our final wishes (which I have told DH about 10 yrs ago) I believe we are from the same town................. Do you think there's something in the water? lol
