My Uncle recently bought a truck, and he followed the advice of a friend...he got a spray liner AND a plastic liner. That way, the actual bed of the truck is protected, but if he wants to carry something that might get kinda messy, maybe tree branches that he's going to take to the dump, he puts the plastic liner in because it's easier to clean.
That's actually a waste of money. We have Rhino-Liner, which is just as easy to clean out as a plastic bed liner- broom, or hose, doesnt matter, even with the plastic liner, it's still got bed lines...(ridges)...a spray in liner, is not "sticky" no more than a plastic is- which of course isn't.
I think the spray liner is great, but it can get scratched depending on what you carry. I thought my Uncle's friend's idea of getting both liners was great.
They are almost 1/2 " thick- and Rhino anyway comes with a lifetime guarantee- we had a gouge in ours from a fridge, called the dealer, got us in within the week- and you'd never know.
DH worked in the collision business for years and did lots of spray on bedliners. He always said that Line-X was best. Rhino was OK and Scorpions were the worst.
A lot has to do with the person installing it- PREP is 99% of the job. If the bed isn't prepped correctly- doesnt matter which product, it's going to be a horrible quality.
Do your research ask them for names of people who had them done 5-10 years ago...we've had ours on our truck since it was 2 days old- October 2001, and other than that 1 gouge, it's perfect. Well, cept the black fades due to UV rays- but it's in the bed, nobody see's it. Rhino will respray 1/16th coat for life, anytime you are not happy with the fading etc....
Good luck- I think this is a very wise investment for your truck. FYI ours is a 6 foot bed, we went over the rails, and it was $350 for the rhino.
