Does anyone know what type of batteries the spray fan water bottles at Disney take? We are planning on buying them this time and want to pack extra batteries just in case. Rather pack them then pay the premium prices at Disney

We have the spray fan water bottles - we bought ours in Walmart - a lot cheaper than the Disney ones and I think they take 2 x AA batteries.

Yes it is 2 AA Batteries, and you really should go to Walmart and buy them for probalby $7.00, at Disney they are at $17.00. I bought one last week as we had an unexpected trip and did not want DDs to get overheated.

Thanks
I know that they are less at walmart but the kids have been asking for these the last 3 trips and we always say no. This time they asked for them before we are even there and I told them that as long as that is the only souvenier they want I will get it for them. They really do not need any other souveniers from Disney as we have been there so many times and they have gotten so much over all of our trips there.

We've got both Disney and non-Disney sprayer's.... I theenk that they use
the same 'top" The AK one we got a number of years ago still works just
fine.... and yes they all pretty much use 2XAA batteries...
They're really nice in the summer... we've put ice water in them in the AM,
and boy, is that GREAT...try to find a cold drinking fountain to fill them up...

I don't know if this is accurate, but I read that if you buy the misting fans at WDW you can get free refills of ice/water from counter service. Anyone know for sure?

You can get free ice/water from counter service and sometimes handcart vendors whether you bought them at Disney or not. It's how they attempt to keep you from keeling over in their parks :earboy2:

We were told to refill the bottles using the ice that some of the bottles are displayed in at the shops (does this make sense?) whenever we saw one. I also don't think they care if you are using a Disney bottle or not -- it's just ice!

The misting fans are very "cool" :rotfl: this time of year.

We used them in Aug 2003 and on at least one occassion we received a refill from counter service without hesitation.

We bought one of the spray bottlles at the super walmart in Orlando---
it was $4.97.

When we turned it on, the fan air went backwards! We could not reposition the blades to project forwards. So we would have to spray water, then turn the fan around to blow it around.

Then the neck detached, and the fan head spun around and around. Since it was a pea green color, my DS started calling it the Excorcist Fan. I was too cheap to spring for the Disney fan. (We also had mistymates, and several other spraybottle fans back in the room), but I was certainly eyeing the Dis ones.

But I'll never forget the pea green fan. (ONe CM told my daughter, with a straight face, that the fan was going backwards because the batteries were in backwards. She actually took the batteries out to try to reverse them to make it go forwards.)

Just check them out really good when you buy them. We bought two a few years ago. One broke while we were there (of course, they exchanged it). And the other didn't work right - (I should have asked to switch that one too). And it didn't last long either.

Love the fan misters. :cool1: My DD5 and I attended California Angels (I refuse to call them by that other name-LOL) yesterday during the hottest :sunny: part of the day. Game time 1:05 p.m.-what was I thinking? We were by third base, front row, so no shade-wow it was sooooo hot! :sunny: :sunny: Anyway, my DD used her fan mister during the entire game and I had to refill it twice. But, surprisingly, the small pocket sized fan (no mist) that I bought at Walmart for $1 (inc. batteries) blew more air than the full sized version. I'm going to go back to Walmart to pickup a few more before our trip. I found it in, of all places, the electrical department. It even has a clip to attach to key rings, etc. I'm going to attach it to our stroller for the trip. :smooth:

38 days and counting! :grouphug:

We have these too and they work well but when it is really hot the water with it feels great

Were the batteries installed correctly?

My fan costs only $2.50 at Walmart, and best is-it's lime green! So look for the lady with the lime green Squeeze Breeze in 12 days.
