I know the main pool at sports is closed , and I am thinking my DD would enjoy the pools at one of the other all starts better than the baseball pool. Can anyone tell me what building to request that is a short walk to one of the other resorts AND also not terribly far from the food court/bus stops? I am pregnant and taking my almost 5 yr old DD alone, so I need as much convenience as I can get.

Thanks!

I have stayed at Sports twice and can honestly say that other than when the busses would go to the other All Stars after or before reaching Sports, I would never know they are close enough to walk to. I know that does not answer your question, so I guess what I'm suggesting is, is it even close enough to walk to?

I would call my TA if I had one or call Disney direct and explain the situation. I'm sure they would be more than happy to accommodate you.

baseball (home run hotel) short walk to music main pool - also as fast as your main pool. (goes for the food court too)

you have permission to use all the all star pools - while the main pool at sports is closed.

baseball (home run hotel) is also where the other pool is located in sports. so it will be busy. It is also the only section that has been rehabbed. So again busy.

you might be better off in the Touchdown (football) section. here is a map.

Baseball is very close to Music, as well as the second smaller pool at Sports. We used the baseball pool one evening and then walked over to Music to look around. Music was very close, just a walk through the parking lot that's between the 2 resorts.

We were just at Sports and requested Baseball so we could us Music's pools. We got Surf's Up instead and still walked to Music's pools. It was no problem at all. It was a 10 minute walk. I also walked to Movies to meet some friends and that was under 20 minutes to the Mighty Ducks pool. We hated the baseball pool. We were the furthest away from the other resorts and still had no issues walking to Music's pools.

At first I was disappointed that we didn't get baseball rooms but there were sports groups and it was rather loud and noisy over there. On the back side of Surf's Up it was silent and there was only young children and really, the walk was not bad at all to the Music pools. I have pics of the walk/pools on my trip report below.

Thanks everyone! I wanted the surfs up building, based on theme alone...but the reservations lady said they were all preferred. Which stinks because the main pool is closed anyways, and that is really the only thing those buildings have over the touchdown buildings. I wasnt thrilled with the idea of the baseball buildings because of the fact that they will most likely be the most requested with the main pool being closed. So I am not sure where we will end up, but she did notate the touchdown building......we'll see.

We didn't pay for preferred for Surf's Up. I think because of the pool no one wanted it. You could not get a more preferred room than we had (first from the elevator, first building, back quiet side) and we did not pay the extra $10 a day. So you never know...

There really isn't a building that will meet both of your needs. My suggestion would be Home Run Hotel-it is almost equidistant from All-Star Sports' Food Court/Bus Stops and All-Star Music's Food Court/Bus Stops, but it is a much further walk than some of the rooms in Surf's Up! and Touchdown! to All-Star Sports' Food Court/Bus Stops. The great thing about staying at Home Run Hotel is that when returning from the parks, you can hop on the first bus that arrives-Sports or Music-because the return walk is about the same.:) Also I think your daughter will like the pools at Music. They have a guitar-shaped pool{Calypso Pool} and the Piano Pool. The Calypso Pool is where Disney is testing an Activities Program for Guests. They have daily games for children and a nightly Disney movie at the pool.:) When you are staying at one of the All-Star Resorts{Sports,Music,Movies},you are ALWAYS free to use the pools at all three Resorts, refill your Resort mug at all three Resorts, etc.,these privileges are ALWAYS available, not just during a refurbishment period. The three Resorts are considered "sister" Resorts of the All-Star Resort.:)

I'd put in a request for the Surfs Up building when you arrive - they might bump you up for free, it's happened to us a couple of times. :) If that doesn't work - just keep asking what they have available, tell them you're pregnant and by yourself with your DD they'll really push to help you find something close to the other resorts - also, have you tried calling to see if you can switch to another resort? Perhaps the music would have some rooms available. Just a thought. :) I hope it works out for you, and don't be afraid to ask for a different resort if what you need isn't available when you get there... I may get flamed for saying that, but you can be very kind while staying firm and making sure you don't have a mile long walk to the busses each day. Hope you enjoy your trip!
