Sporting equipment not allowed?

I see "sporting equipment" on the list of items not allowed. We are doing a week at WDW after our cruise, and I had planned to pack some baseball gloves and balls for any time we may have at our hotel during the WDW week. Is that not allowed?

The prohibited list actually says:

• Potentially dangerous sporting equipment, including baseball and cricket bats, hockey and lacrosse sticks, pool cues, ski poles, fishing gear and archery equipment. (Golf clubs are permitted as long as they are stored inside your stateroom.)

So, anything that could be a weapon (ie a baseball bat). Gloves and balls should be OK, but please don't take my word for it. They might see the balls and say "no" (don't want to take the chance that ball will go over the side).

Thank you. I was "quoting" a "what to pack" list I found somewhere (can't remember where) and it wasn't that specific. I'll try to contact them direct and see what they say.

I've seen father/son groups throwing a baseball many times on the ship, on the basketball court, inside the net. Not only can you bring them onboard but you could use them during the cruise if you wish.

If it happens to be confiscated, you can retrieve it at debarkation. They don't completely destroy prohibited items; it's just held for you at the port.

Just in case, put the balls in a ziplock with your room number and name on it. If it's confiscated, you'll be able to easily claim them after the cruise. I'm guessing the gloves wouldn't be confiscated, if anything, just the balls.
