Hey everyone!

I am new to the boards and I wanted to say hello! I am going to Disney in two weeks...YAY! I am going with my fiancee, and its just going to be a romantic trip for us two.

We are vegetarians (kinda) because we eat fish, but no meat. We already have most of our din ner reservations booked, but we cannot choose between Spoodles and Ctricos at the Grand Floridian. We noticed that most places have a fish choice of Salmon, including Spoodles, so we are slightly leaning towards Ctricos and we figure we may need a break from salmon!

Ctricos is most expensive though, so we only want to go if the food and atmosphere is pretty fabulous!

Also, any comments on lunch at Portobello's?

Hello and welcome to the Disboards!

I have eaten at all three restaurants and I really LOVED Citricos. I would choose that for dinner.

I have not had lunch at Portabellos, but I have eaten dinner and it was very good. I cannot say I am anxious to go back, only because there are so many restaurants I want to try. But I will be happy to go there again eventually.

Have you considered The Flying Fish at Downtown Disney instead of Portabellos?

I haven't been to Citros, but we just had a fabulous meal at Spoodle. There should be plenty to chose from that's vegitarian and not salmon. And it wouldn't be as expensive. Plus, the Boardwalk location is really fun and worth seeing alone.

Had dinner at Portobellos a few years back and enjoyed it. Typically, the restaurants open to the public in DTD are good because they want repeat customers from locals.

Citrico's is probably a better choice as a dinner spot for two, especially on a romantic trip. And tho "fabulous" can be defined lots of ways, I think it would come close to that definition.
We've done Portobello for dinner many times but never lunch. BY all means try it!!

I have to second the Flying Fish recommendation. It is a wonderful spot. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is fab.

I have eaten dinner at Portobella's twice and it was good. The second time I only went because the rest of the group really wanted to try it. There are so many amazing places to try I don't want to settle for "good"!

I think it's no contest. Although we stay at the Boardwalk and love the atmosphere, we love the food and atmosphere at Citricos. I have eaten the lamb, tuna, and osso bucco. All were awesome.

Also, Flying Fish would be a great option.

Citrico's would be my choice as well...but I want to throw another thought your way.

Jiko has an amazing monkfish--you might want to consider that one as well.

I had a bad experience at Citricos so I can't recommend it. When we went in October, the atmosphere and service started out really nicely but went downhill from there. There were a lot of loud tables with drunk older adults and a couple with cranky kids (I don't blame them, it seems like they had been there for a long time). It seemed like it was louder than the Crystal Palace (during lunch) and we also had one older gentleman nearly crash into our table. To top it off our waiter disappeared after we had our entrees dropped off so we had dishes sitting around and waited for ages for the bill. It wasn't worth the money for me but YMMV.

I'd go with Jiko. I've eaten there several times and haven't been disappointed with the service or the food :)
