Spoodles - opinions please

for my opinion of Spoodles. Sorry - this is just my humble opinion and others rave about it. You'll find good and bad reviews for every restaurant at Disney. So, you never know until you try it for yourself. But here is my review. two words: DRIED UP and another two words: SICK HUSBAND.

We've been going to Disney for 12 years. We were there this past Thanksgiving walking through the Boardwalk area and we walked past Spoodles. It dawned on us that we had never tried it in all the years of visiting Disney. So, we immediately made PS's for the last night of our trip. I looked so forward to it but it was a major disappointment. My husband got a chicken dish (I can't remember the name) and the server said "that's a great choice sir...it's very moist and delicious." I ordered steak. The chicken was so dried up and nasty, my husband sent it back. Came back a little better - not so rubbery, but still not good. I had to send my steak back once, and they did get it right the second time but I just didn't like the flavor. The worst part is my husband got sick after this meal. It was a major disappointment and we'll never ever ever ever return. If we could only eat at Spoodles or McDonalds, we'd choose McDonalds. And we don't eat at McDonalds.

I know this sounds harsh, but it really truly was that bad.

Spoodles is our favorite restaurant. The food is always wondrous! And we've always treated incredibly well by the chefs and servers. We typically eat there, now, two or three nights each trip (we generally stay at the Boardwalk), and we've never had a bad meal there. They're very accommodating to special requests too. We typically have them make up a special roasted veggies plate for us, which is mind-blowing. There's always something on the plate that we've never seen before, and of course it all tastes great.

Besides the roasted veggies plate, which isn't on the menu of course, we love whatever Tapas has shrimp in it... that's always a winner for us. The flatbreads with hummus and the other dips is also very good. We've also had a spicy mussels dish there that we liked a lot.

What's really remarkable is that breakfast is really good there too!

Spoodles is one of my all time favorite Disney Resturants. I love the flatbreads, the med dips with pita bread and the SANGRIA! Next time I will be getting a pitcher of Sangria instead of a glass! :flower:

Last year we started our trip with a late supper at Spoodles. The dips and flatbread were wonderful!! We each had a pasta dish that was equally as good but the dips and flatbread are what we remember in detail!! That and the great service we had.

That trip we took chances on several restaurants we read negative reviews on and were pleasantly suprised with each. So you really never know how good or bad a place is until you experience it first hand.

Have a good trip!!

We had a very similiar experience at CRT, food we couldn't finish and both my DH and I were sick the next day. We found out later that CRT doesn't have a kitchen so all the food they serve there is prepared elsewhere and brought in. We are trying Spoodles again next week, we were there a couple of years ago and did not fall in love, but it has gotten many good reviews so I'm going to give it another shot. I hope we don't have the same experience as you Pam. I'll let you all know.

We ate breakfast twice at Spoodles last trip and really enjoyed it. Had the same good waiter both mornings (produced peanutbutter and a plain bagel on request for DS). I had the ham and cheese frittata, DH had a french toast thing (very sweet) and breakfast pizza. DD also ordered some weird combo stuff which he happily produced for her! :sunny:

My family LOVES  Spoodles.

It's a MUST DO on every trip. Their boulenese sauce is fabulous and their flat breads are great too. DH loves the fettichini. The prices are very reasonable and the service has always been great.

We've been going for 10 years and will keep returning. :teeth:

DH and I are big fans of Spoodles. We've only eaten breakfast there, but it is a must-do every trip. The variety, atmosphere, food and service have always been excellent in our opinion.
