We generally love to eat at Spoodles at Boardwalk. And so we planned for it in our budget/planning. We were looking forward to the mussles and calamari and other items.

However, seems that they have recently changed the menu. You now have a choice of about 5 or so appetizers and 5 or so entrees. That is it!

Our waitress, Sandy, whom we loved, said that she went on vacation (14 day DCL to CA) and when she came back they had trimmed the menu. I asked her not to ever go away again, she might just come back to nothing!

Anyway, we will be taking this old favorite off of our must-do list. There are too many other options in WDW to settle for a menu with so few options.

Wow! :earseek: Can you recall what was left on the menu?

We have this has one of our TS meals when we go in July. I wonder if it's because of the MYW plus dining? Hmmm......

I will go from memory

Appetizers: flatbread, 2 kinds; hummus dips with pita corners; salad;

Entrees: Pasta with italian sausage; new york strip; fettucine with proscuitto and peas (though now they are snow peas instead of small round sweet peas - I know because this is what I always order); salmon; (you can still add on shrimp and scallops to most entrees);

I know I am leaving a few things out, but not many. This is basically it. I am sure someone can add the one or two things I missed. We usually love Spoodles, but it is off the list for any future trips.

hmm...2 things sound good to me. I'm so disappointed. I think we'll still try it, but we might not be as happy with the new menu. :confused3

Thanks! :)

I made an ADR there, planned on ordering the gnocchi...but will cancel now. Hello, we'd have ordered mixed drinks and wine...but now we'll pay for that elsewhere...anyone have any suggestions...am thinking of Chefs de France.

Do they still have the seafood Paella?

If so I'm there b/c that's what I really really wanted to try.

I'm disappointed in no mussels on the appetizer. Waaaah.

the gnocci is listed on the allears menu, is it really not on the menu? It appears to be a vegetarian meal so you might have skipped over it? When I went 2 years ago they had this amazing stuffed red pepper meal, and it doesn't look like they have it anymore :(

tricia.

Actually, I think that neither the gnocchi nor the red pepper thing are still on the menu. The menu just changed last month. And I could be wrong about the gnocchi, but definitely no red pepper thing.

Was the food still good, despite the pared-down selections?

P.S. How do you grow gardens under old bed sheets?

The food was still very good...it is just that when they slimmed down the menu, they only left us things we have already had. Nothing new for us. But still very good food! The oak-grilled steak is out of this world!

Sorry london - I forgot to answer your question.

A hundred years or so ago, I happened to be chatting directly with Pete Werner....and somehow got to discussing gardens and winter and winter in summer...you see, we lived far upnorth at the time. And I had a garden that had to live under old bed sheets due to frost every single night of the summer. And low and behold, shortly after, I discovered that I had been tagged by the top tagger himself! I treasure my tag and hope to have it always!

Spoodles has changed. We've eaten there since it opened and the last two meals were so-so. In fact, we talked about it with the server last month. Sad to say, Spoodles is off our list.

2005 discussion.
Some things never change!

Bumping to show the decline or dumbing down of menus.
What's happening to fine dining ????

DH and I were supposed to eat there last month for our romantic anniversary dinner (we left the kids at the Cub's Den).

We got there, the place was empty, It felt weird. I checked in, took a peep at the menu (we ate there last year for same occassion and LOVED IT). The menu was downsized and nothing was POPPING out at us.

DH and I looked at each other, told the host to take our name off the list - went to the Concierge at the Boardwalk to help us find a dinner reservation - The Yachtman's was available - we hopped a boat and went for there for a fabulous meal.

Moral of the Story: We willl never go to Spoodles again.
