I have read on the forum as well as other sites that Spoodles has Paella, but it is not on the menu on this site. Does it have Paella?

We ate there last September with the Free Dining offer and Spoodles did not have the Paella on the menu. (I was looking forward to it too.) I am not sure if it was removed just during the free dining offer and is offered any other time though. I didn't think to ask the waiter about it when we were ordering. I have seen on the boards that some have asked about items not listed on the menu and have been able to order them.

This was a year ago, so hopefully someone will post that has been there more recently.

Years ago when Spoodles first opened they offered a tapas menu which included paella. The menu has since changed and they no longer offer paella. They do have a fish stew on the current menu.

They haven't had the paella on the menu for a very long time, so I doubt it's off because of the DDP.
The fish stew is delicious!!

Perhaps if you call the restaurant and request it, the Chef might make it for you?

While the chefs do their best to accommodate dietary requests, some of the ingredients for paella are no longer used in any of the entrees at Spoodles, so they simply wouldn't be able to make it.

I ate there last week, and I don't remember paella being offered (I liked Spoodles, though).

I've had special orders made for me before when I have called ahead.

Yes, and they definitely do do that. However, casual restaurants, including Spoodles, typically will not stock a kitchen with costly ingredients (like saffron) not normally there (except as part of a catering contract, perhaps).

Sorry, was just trying to help. I didn't know that "bicker" was the local expert on their inventory. I'd still call - you never know what magic they might be able to conjur up if you ask.

I agree completely -- definitely ask, even call ahead. My point was simply not to expect it. If they're able to accommodate your request, consider it a generous gesture on their part. Sorry for the confusion.
