Hi, everyone! My name is June and this is my first TR/PTR on Disboards! I've had an account since 2014, but started a new one to keep some personal details vague. Thanks for joining me on this PTR!
A little about me/us! I'm in my late 20s and living in NJ with my husband, S I've always been a Disney fan but didn't get into loving the parks until I was in college. I took my first adult trip after graduation and I've been hooked ever since. My husband was unconvinced until I took him in 2016 and now he's on that Disney train as much as I am lol. We've gone on several trips since then and we were APs from 2018-2019. We haven't been since late 2019 due to covid, so we're hoping we can make the trip down there a couple times this year because the disney withdrawal is so real, yall.
Our first trip is planned for this May! It was definitely a spur of the moment decision and we were teetering between yes and no a TON before we finally bit the bullet and booked. Honestly, I'm still not convinced we're going haha. I keep telling myself that if things turn at all, everything is still refundable! So, i'm approaching our planning with excitement but a lot of cautious optimism. We wanted to wait until we were both vaccinated, which we have been (we work in healthcare) and we've been watching the numbers carefully. Hopefully, we'll be a go!
I'm the planner of the two of us on our vacations, Disney or non disney. He likes to joke that whenever we go on a trip, he's Mrs. June and he love sit haha. I've always LOVED planning. I saw a quote once that said that planning a Disney vacation is like planning a wedding. I loved planning our wedding, so this made a lot of sense to me haha.
Who: For this trip it will just be me and my husband!
When: May 15-19, 2021 (Sat-Wed). We'll be getting in early morning on Saturday and taking a later flight out on Wednesday. We'll probably just hang out at Disney Springs before we leave for our departure flight (I miss earl of sandwich so much
) We're excited to be there for F&G fest! One of our favorite things is just leisurely walking around epcot and trying all the different booths.
Where: pop century! our usual go to if we don't plan on spending too much time at the resort. Also, S LOVES the skyliner.
Tickets: We're doing 4 single park tickets this time around. Usually, we get park hoppers, but without fireworks (S's favorite), and shorter park hours, it didn't seem worth it to us at the moment. However, if they gave us a chance to upgrade to APs, we would jump on that almost immediately. We're going back in November so it just makes sense. Also, I miss being an AP!
ADRS: Not too many this time around. We're going to try Wine Bar George this time around because we keep hearing great things and have never been! My husband isn't a big drinker so I only ever drink if we're with friends, so we're mostly excited about the food. We also have a reservation at Tiffins on our AK day. For as much as we've gone, we def have our favorites, so we always try to branch out and try new things, especially since we are taking a bunch of friends with us in November. Gotta do it for the research.
I'll update with soon regarding our itinerary! Thanks for following along if you decide to!!
