In Orlando for a training event and decided since I haven't been to the World in about 6 years it'd be fun to go drink around the world. I'll be solo. Is the hassle of Genie+ worth it to do as much as possible in Epcot? And what are the chances of being able to sit at the bar at Space 220 (no lounge reservation just the bar). I'm a Disneyland person so the World is always intimidating. I just want to have a fun day that isn't too stressful to have fun.

From what I understand, Genie+ isn't great for Epcot. You could ride Single Rider at Test Track which is the only Genie+ ride at Epcot that gets really long lines. Frozen and Remy get long lines but they are $ILL. If I was on a solo trip, I would pay for Remy, but not get Genie+.

Genie+ was nice to have at Epcot but definitely not a necessity, especially if your main goal is to enjoy the countries. Paying for Remy and Frozen is a much better investment IMO. You can pick your time slots and skip the longest waits in the park.
Space220 did not have any walk up option when we were there last week. Others have reported good luck going there right at rope drop and getting on the list but the official stance is reservations only. Keep trying though - something may pop up!

When we were there in Dec, Space 220 was taking walk up for the bar only. Lounge and restaurant needed reservations
Agree that G+ is not worth it for Epcot.

If you are looking to maximize time- Suggest to rope drop soarin, buy ILL$ for frozen, do single rider for TT

So here's a review of my day in Epcot

MDE basically didn't work at all. I even got given a physical card for a ticket. I couldn't see wait times, buy Genie+/LL or anything. It was useless.

Showed up around 1015 (park opened at 10)

Bought some ears. Walked onto Test Track. Afterwards wandered over to Space 220 to see what the deal was. It was around 10:55 and the host at the front said the first 10 people in line would get bar seating, but if I didn't want to wait in line (I was number 3, more on that in a bit) he had reservations for both lunch and dinner for lounge and restaurant. Several people did that and it seemed like he had all day available for lots of party sizes. I waited because I wanted the bar, the couple in front of me was 2 people but 5 minutes before 11:30 (when they opened) they grew to a party of 6 which should not have been allowed but I don't think the host who let us all in noticed what they did. Not cool. Anyway, ate at the bar and it was 10/10 for experience and 9/10 for food.

Walked around the countries, was a madhouse over there. Around 3 Soarin' was a 35 minute wait but it took 15.

Went to DS for drinks/dinner/shopping. Was very sad when World of Disney didn't have the coffee mug I was eyeing in Epcot (Mr. Potato head) but got everything else I wanted but didn't want to walk around with.

Had such a good time when I saw I had a break in my training/work schedule on Thursday I booked another day but at MK. So yeah, I get to wear my new ears again! But unfortunately MDE is still absolutely useless so there's that. I get most of the world has iPhones but that shouldn't be an excuse to make it unusable for Android users.

I'm glad you had a good day, but sorry to hear about MDE! I'm an android user who used MDE successfully while we were there. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? How old is your OS?

I'm surprised they let them grow from a group of 2 to a group of 6. When we were in line (got there about the same time as you) they actually were writing down what number everyone was.
