Just had a thought. i've registered for the minnie 15km next year and was hoping to use it to raise money for a local hospice which looked after my nana. Will that be ok or do you have to send sponsor money into the minnie marathon people for their chosen charities?

Fundraising is a bit tricky here on the DIS. Permission must be granted from the web site owner before you can link you fundraiser.

Ah sorry, I didn't mean that at all. I was just wondering how fundraising works for disney events. I would never ask anyone on here to sponsor me. For one thing most of you are doing much bigger distances than me anyway!!!

Are you saying that you registered for the Minnie, not with a special charity, but you want to raise money for your charity by doing the Minnie? I think that sounds great. It would be like your own fundraising event.

That's exactly what i meant! Ah i'm on nights at the moment and my words just won't come out in the right order! So that would be allowed then? I entered the santa dash over here thinking it was just a run, but it turned out to be one you have to raise sponsorship for specific charities so I was worried Minnie would be the same.

Sorry I misunderstood your question.

The Disney event is not exclusive of their charity...they support Lukemia and Lymphoma Society as I guess you know. That said there are many folks raising funds for other charities.

That is commendable of you to consider a worthy place to support with your event efforts. Good luck to you!
