DW and I just returned from 3 nights at the Arizona Biltmore. This is an amazing hotel with a great history and Frank Lloyd Wright designed. The grounds are beautiful. We are so used to Disney that we found the service lacking, unfriendly, and, at times, just plain rude. This is supposed to be the "top tier" in the Waldorf Astoria chain and the service level was no where near what we have come to expect from Disney. Is it just us or had Disney ruined others for any place else?

From a timeshare standpoint we normally get as good or better service and responsiveness from the other places we stay at compared to Disney. I'm not saying Disney is bad, just that others seems to try harder and be more flexible, not to mention, putting a real effort into unit assignments. As a rule, we get a call from someone within 24 hours of check in to see how everything is and often at least once more. Almost every time we call for maint or housekeeping, we get at least one follow up call to make sure it was taken car of. I've had them go buy pillows, baking racks and fans, simply because we asked for them and without giving us a chance to say it wasn't that important. I've seen the GM come in on their day off and deal directly with a guest when a problem arrived (someone else, not me). So while I think Disney does fine in this area, I think many others do even better.
