Splitting the Check with DDE

I know that being allowed to split the check and still have the DDE discount applied really just depends on where you are and who you ask so I would like to hear about success and failure at:
Sci-Fi Dine-In
Restaurant Marrakesh
Crystal Palace
Ohana

For us -- Ohana, No. I have not tried the others.
From our experience, the only WDW restaurant that have been gracious about this for the last year is LTT. I am sure it is hot and miss. And not that we often request it.

Ohana was a yes from us.

We didn't dine at the others, sorry, but 50s PTC, Cape May Cafe and LTT did.

We have tried it a couple of times, don't remember where though, and were rejected each time. Because of that, we just pay for everything and get the discount and then have the other group pay us back.

When we travel with another family, this is what we do.

Both DH & I have the DDE card.

So when it comes time for the charges, we will have DH, DS & the OTHER family's DW on one bill, The other family's DH, DC & Me on the other bill.

Generally speaking, my meal & my friend's meal is comperable in price.

That way, when both DHs put down their room key to pay, both DH & I can put down our DDE card & get the discount on both bills.

No issue at all. A couple of times the CMs have checked to make sure it is ok. But since both DH & I have the card, and both of our meals on on seperate checks, they honor it.

I had been wondering if that would work. I had posted before to ask and someone said they didn't think it would work because both of our DDE cards are really the same account just different names on them. Did you guys have two seperate DDE accounts or just one with two cards?

But think about it this way. If I am sitting down to eat at Columbia Harbor House in the MK, I would use the DDE card. Now DH is getting something to eat at say, Cosmic Rays in the MK AT THE SAME TIME, he would use his DDE & get the discount on his food as well. Why shouldn't we both be able to get our discounts?

That is the argument I have used & it worked.

Yes but you cannot use the DDE at CS in MK, MGM, or Epcot or any of the resorts that have TS. So your arguement is not workable in that situation. Now if you want to go to LTT and your DH to Tony's then you might want to have two cards. Although withthe increase in price for the cards plus the fee for the second card now you'd have to do a whole lot more eating and drinking to even hit the breakeven point.

Ok, ok... I just choose to places as an example. Not litteraly...

Use 2 TS places instead & you see what I mean.

Also, the original question has to do with others receiving the 20%, (up to 10 or whatever) beyond the DDE card owner, right? There isn't any doubt about splitting-out say 5 people from a party of 10, is there?

We were able to have our bill split at the Crystal Palace last year at MNSSHP. We had 1 card, and 8 people, and they gave each family of 4 their own bill.

No it can be used at any TS at the resorts, just not the CS. So not at Mara, but yes at BOMA and Jiko. Yes at Cape May no at Hurricane Hannahs, yes at Spoodles and no at Spoodles Take out window.
As far as splitting the bill with DDE, I've never tried it. I have never had an occasion where I was trying to pay for more than my immediate family.
