We are staying at the cabins March 28 through April 4 and I am so excited. I'm staying with my son Charlie, who 25.

We have our trip about 1/3 of the way paid off and I plan to have it the rest of the way paid off by the first weekend in December. We just bought our water shoes, rain ponchos, and we each bought a new set of luggage since our old sets were those great big huge ones that you can't take on planes anymore.

I think for me the planning stages and getting everything together is so exciting and so joyful. The letdown only happens when you're like two or three days away from going home. I really wish I could buy Disney vacation club and plan to come every year.

Thanks for indulging my thoughts. I just needed to share some of the joy that I'm having right now regarding my trip. Nobody in my family or at work wants to talk about it. I guess if you're not planning a trip, it's a little torturous to hear somebody else talk about it.

Thanks for sharing your excitement, @Kite16510 . Because we Fort guests usually have to book well in advance of arrival, the wait can seem like an eternity. But spring is a great time to stay at the Fort.

When you can start booking dining reservations, for example, to me that's when it starts to feel real. Note that your dining reservation window is based on your ARRIVAL day so you can book beyond 60 days (the basic window) if you are a guest. For example, if you want to reserve some place on day 5 of our stay, you can view 60 days from arrival ( and it should let you reserve the 65 day view) which gives you a better chance of booking what you want. Of course, you can always check availability once at WDW in the short-term but having a bird in the hand always helps.

Generally speaking, the weather is great in spring (which is why the rates are higher). If that's when you can travel, I hope it works out FINE for you.:beach:

PS - please tell us how your trip goes once you are at the Fort. :worship:

You might want to rent a golf cart . It adds to the fun of staying at the Fort W Cabins!

My trip begins soon! I love staying at the Fort !

I've already reserved one. I'm glad I reserved early because they said that they're booked out to the end of the year.
