If I use my Tables in Wonderland card and two people want to pay, can we do that? It would be me and somebody else splitting the payment. It would be for a table of 9 people. We would simply want to split the cost right down the middle on each credit card.

They do not allow split payment (my experience in Dec) However, they would take a mix of cash, gift cards and CC from the TiW cardholder.

According to the official TIW site these are the rules:

Tables in Wonderland memberships are non-transferrable. The Tables in Wonderland member must be in attendance at the meal, present the Tables in Wonderland card, a drivers license or state ID, and pay for the meal, in order to apply the discount.

The Tables in Wonderland discount is good for up to 10 people including the member, as long as everyone is on the same check, and the Tables in Wonderland member is paying the bill. If you have the Tables in Wonderland card, and your spouse or partner has the Tables in Wonderland secondary card, together you may cover up to 20 people. Both members must live at the same address and be 21 years of age or older.

That said, there have been instances where CMs have allowed guests to split checks with TIW (though I have never tried) - If you're planning on paying for others and getting reimbursed I would just recommend either cash or Disney gift cards (or they can write you a personal check at the end of the trip, just hold on to receipts - this is what we did on our last trip with my sister)

We have a TIW card and have split the check several times with members of our party. We have always asked if it's okay, and the servers have always said it's no problem. In most cases we split the check in half (with two credit cards or room keys), but at least twice we've split it 3 ways. As long as there was one check, they didn't care how many credit cards were used.

The key item is that the discount may be applied to only one check

It depends on the location and/or the server about what can be done once the discount is applied to the check. Officially the bill should be paid by one person. But sometimes you can get to use two payment methods and sometimes unlimited.

1) The rules say "no".
2) Many servers say "yes".
3) When you go, it is probably "maybe".
4) All depends upon your server.

Thanks for responding. I am glad you understood what I was asking. ;)
I will be sure to ask in advance. :)

I did NOT ask if I could have multiple checks with the TIW discount, just one ticket/check with 2 different credit cards for payment.

Good to hear a recent experience. I will ask and see what happens. I will be prepared to pay the entire bill and just get reimbursed when we get home if necessary. Thanks again. :)

You can use a combo of cash, gift card and credit card. That's not a problem but when you hand over 2 or more credit cards with different names on them is when the issue can happen.

It used to be that a manager would have to approve the discount. That has changed and they no longer have to. The server has to swipe the TIW card and then apply payment. This tracks the transaction. All servers closed checks are subject to review for discrepancies.

Since the official TIW rule is that the cardholder pay the bill, any server that doesn't go by the rule can get caught and fired for cash handling.

Just some info for you.

We were there in December and had mixed luck with this. Sometimes they said yes and sometimes they said no.

We traveled with 2 other couple (so 3 couples) and we always split payment 3 ways. We would get one check and just designate how much on each credit card. Now normally this was just split equally because we all shared meals, appetizers, bottles of wine...but I don't think that would make a difference.

My understanding is they can't split it out into different tickets, but they can use different payments on one ticket. (hope that makes sense)

As others have said, the RULE says no, they are not supposed to accept different payments. But as others have also said, some CM's ignore the rule and do accept different payments.
OP, I do think most of us understood your question. I don't understand your harsh reply.

I have had varying luck with this as well. A group of us ate at LeCellier once. Only one person had a TiW card, but there were a few that wanted to pay with their own room cards. The server told us that all the food had to be on one check, with one payment...so no splitting.
Last Dec, a group of about 7 of us ate together frequently. There were 3 TiW cards at each meal. We let the server know, when we ordered, that different 'groups' would be paying with a specific TiW card discount. No problem.
But, we have never been able to have one person have a TiW card, but have others get the discount but pay with something other than cash on that one bill. Our servers always told us that if a TiW card was used, the payment (if credit or room key) had to be in the TiW card holders name. Everyone could put in cash, and then the TiW holder could use a credit card in his name, to pay the entire thing, or he could use his cc (or room key) to pay his share with cash from others making up the rest. But the server wouldn't take multiple cc's for the same check...and still give the discount.
