Splitting fast passes between two groups...is this possible?

We are going this summer staying on property with family but with two separate room reservations. Our kids are older, while the other family we are traveling with on the separate reservation has younger children. While we may be in the same parks on the same days, we won't be booking all the same fast passes. My MIL wants to come with us on some but with the other family on others. Can she book 1 of her fast passes with us, and then switch to the other reservation to book her other two fast passes for that day. Or, does she have to stay within one reservation for all 3 fast passes per day. I really hope this made sense and apologize if I confused everyone!!

It’s not tied to Hotel Reservations, the FPs are based on the tickets that are linked to each person.
