Can you still do this? There will be 4 of us-we are all "adults"-could we use table 2 credits and pay oop for the other 2? Can we choose which meals to pay oop or will they charge us the 2 most expensive? tia!

also my kids (11&13) are picky eaters- if they dont find anything on the regular menu that they like can they choose from the kids menu? Then consequently could we choose to pay oop for that in order to save that table credit for another time?

Yes on both accounts, simply let the server know who will be paying with the dining plan and who will be paying OOP when you order.

It is easy to split up the bill. You'll just tell the server which meals to charge to DDP/room/credit card. If one of us wants just an appetizer or something cheap, we'll often "save" that credit. This works especially well if you have more meals planned than available DDP credits.

Thank you both :)

Justcallmemommy-thats exactly the reason for my question! I have 3 or 4 "too many" ADRs and was trying to map out the cheapest route to take when paying oop. Thanks again!

Here is an example of what we did in July 2011:
5 nights, 2 adults and 1 child (although DH left a day and a half early)

Day 1 (Night 1): CS
Day 2 (Night 2): Crystal Palace breakfast used 2 adult and 1 child TS
Day 3 (Night 3): Sci Fi lunch used 1 adult TS for burger and 2 milkshakes(and paid for one burger and side of onion rings out of pocket)-all 3 of us ate
Ohana Dinner used 2 adult and 1 child TS
Day 4 (Night 4): Tusker House breakfast-2 adult TS, 1 child TS
Cape May Clambake-1 adult TS, 1 child TS (only my son and I there)
Day 5 (Night 5): Chefs de France lunch-1 adult TS (my DS and I shared)
Day 6: 1900 Park Fare breakfast-1 adult TS, 1 child TS (only my son and I were there)

So we were able to spread our credits to 7 TS restaurants

So obviously, we did not share at the buffets or all you can eat, but we had no problem using partial credits at Sci FI and Chefs de France. At Sci Fi the server had no problem with getting us two milkshakes at once ...at Chefs, the server had no problem with us sharing the prix fixe meal.

Doing this my 5 year old didn't have to eat any TS kid's meals (he either shared adult meals with us or ate what he wanted at a buffet)

Interesting... I never thought of this... We could do Liberty Tavern for lunch.. and my husband and I could share potroast... :scratchin:scratchin

Ive heard it mentioned here before that sometimes it is not permissable to share if ordering just one entree. But i cant imagine it would be a problem if you ordered an app and paid oop for it, then put the entree on the DDP. That kind of thing is hit or miss by CM and location, I think. Worth a shot, I suppose. :confused3

At Tutto Italia (sp) I was first told I could just order app OOP and DH a meal on the DDP. A few minutes later CM came back and said I had to order an entree as well. So it does vary but Disney owned restaurants have allowed it for some. At Jiko we shared the filet not to save but because I had caught a cold in Dec and not hungry.
