Hello! Is it permitted to split adult entrees at TS restaurants (between 2 adults). I'm thinking specifically about Chefs de France but would be curious about other restaurants as well.

Thank you!

I often split a meal with my husband or one of my kids (which is why we rarely book fixed price/buffet type restaurants, we just don't eat enough to justify the cost). I have not done it at Chefs de France, but have done it at Le Cellier, La Creperie, Homecomin', Brown Derby, Steakhouse 71, Jiko, Toppolino, and Kona (to name a few).

Thank you very much for naming some specific restaurants. Did any of these charge a "split plate fee"? The only TS where we split a meal was at Beaches and Cream, where we got 1/2 of the sandwich and what looked like a full portion of fries on each plate! And they didn't charge us extra.

With a split plate fee, do you get extra food always, or not even guaranteed that?

yes you can, it is only an issue with prefixed menus, you have to pay your fee even if you don't feel like eating it.

never heard of this fee at WDW.

People split entrees all the time, it is a destination where you eat all day, sometimes you are not that hungry and just want to share. no problems

Thanks for all the replies! It's nice to know we can enjoy a sit-down restaurant and not pay for multiple expensive entrees (and bonus, room for dessert!). 🍨

We've had that happen, the main dish was halved, but the sides looked like full portions. Seems generous to me, maybe we should keep this on the DL ;)
