Sorry if this is the wrong place or this has been covered already. The search function here is timing out on me.

I seem to recall hearing that Splitsville charges by the hour, not by the game. My husband is thinking of taking our son bowling next trip. DH is into food and bowling. DS is autistic and loves bowling. Neither would be happy about having to vacate a lane in the middle of a game. Can someone confirm this? If so, is there a way to finish out a game?

Thanks.

I recently e-mailed Splitsville to ask about pricing. We wanted to pre-reserve a lane so we wouldn't have to wait. Planned to eat while we bowled. Below is the info I got. To pre-reserve is called "Priority Bowling". In this case yes you are paying by the hour. The walk-in scenario time is based on size of your party. I have never been so no idea how strict they are about times but I imagine they are pretty strict when busy.

E-mail info I received:
With Priority Bowling, the rate is $125 per hour per lane after 4pm and you decide how many lanes and how much time you'd like to reserve for. You will receive the next available lanes upon checking in, regardless of any wait we might be on for lanes.

Walking in: The rate after 4pm is $20 per person and how many people you bowl with determines how much time on the lanes. With 7 people, we would give you 1 hour and 45 minutes.

1-3 People: 1 hour
4 People: 1 hour 15 minutes
5 People: 1 hour 30 minutes
6-8 people: 1 hour 45 minutes

This info is for after 4pm. During the weekday and before 4 the pricing is cheaper. On their website they list all the info. To do the "priority bowling" you need to call/e-mail.

We went Friday night (Valentine's Day and president day weekend - for reference).

We got there about 6. We didn't have a wait at all.

AP holders get a 20% discount on bowling and 10% on food.

So for us it was $16/pp and we got 1:15.

We were able to bowl two strings and had two kids with us - adults I think are more focused and would easily be able to bowl two strings.

The people next to us added an extra 30 minutes - but I'm not sure on cost - I just know they did.

It is all computerized and your time ticks in the lower left corner of the score screen. So you would know before it shuts down.

Thanks. We regularly bowl at our local lane weekend mornings. The three of us can bowl three games each in just two hours. I wouldn't be bowling at Disney (rather go to the Parks) and I know my boys would not pay attention to the time ticking down.

Forgot to add the screen actually flashes and changes colors when it gets to the 15 minute mark.

It is very hard to not notice the time.

If you want to get the most of your bowling time you can eat at a regular table and then bowl, or vice versa. The is what we did (eat then bowl) and we had a blast. We had 5 or 6 people bowling and were able to bowl almost two whole games in our time limit.

Ah, that helps! Thank you.

If I were bowling this is the route I'd go. I personally don't like eating and bowling. I wouldn't want food on my bowling ball, and I don't want bowling ball cooties on my food. But I think the boys are looking forward to the novelty of wait service to their lane. To each his own.
