Is it worth it to do split stays? We might go next year and stay at Pop but I would like to do a couple of nights at either Coronado or another moderate. Thoughts?

Have done it a couple of times - but over longer periods - one week wilderness lodge then one week BC, another time 4 nights POR and one week wl. It's great so long as you organised and don't overpack

We split our stay up between OKW & BW this summer. It was very easy (just call down to bell services an hour before you move) and they'll move your luggage to your new resort & room. I recommend after checking out to head right over to the new resort to check in before taking off for the day. I did this and got a beautiful room immediatly (10am) while my GF headed off to Epcot and checked in around 2ish. She had to wait until 4 for a room to be ready, but made the best of her time at the pool.

Both DH and I are personal fans of split stays!!! Doing so enabled us to stay at 7 different resorts in just 3 trips. (this was PRE children mind you LOL, I'm not sure we have the energy to do 3 resort chages in one stay again. :) ) You get to experience more of the resort magic that way. And being as we can only get to WDW every 3-4 years, at the rate of staying at 1 place per trip we'd take 20 yeasr or more before we got to all the ones we wanted to. We didn't do it with our last trip only because it worked out better to stay in one place this one time but the next time, even though we'll get an awesome room at an awesome rate at SoG we'll try to get a night or 2 in at AKL. :teeth:
We've never used the benefit of the resorts moving our luggage but it sounds wonderful. I say go for it! We loved it!

Ohhh, for the love to live close enough to drive. We'd be there every year. Hope you guys that do get to go so often know how lucky you are! lovestruc

Just did 4 nights at YC and four nights at the Poly. It was great, like taking two vacations! We stayed in the Epcot area when at the YC and went to the BW alot. And then did alot of MK when we were at the Poly. We had a rental car so we just got up early on our transfer day and drove over to the Poly and checked in about 8:30am and our room was ready, but if it hadn't been we would have just left our luggage with bell services and went to the MK for the day.

I love split stays! This past January we couldn't decide between resorts so did a split stay between WL and AKL. It was great! It was like two vacations in one. In a week we went from the Pacific Northwest to an African Savanna. In May I spent two nights at POP, then rented DVC points for five nights at BWV, then added two final nights at POP. Sept 17th-24th I took my son and D-I-L to WDW and we spent all 7 nights at POP because my D-I-L didn't want to do a split stay. I really missed switching. In Dec I'm taking my mom down there and we're doing a split stay between POFQ and CSR. I can't wait!

WDW makes splitting a resort stay very easy. Just call the morning you're ready to switch. They'll come get your luggage and transfer it to the other resort. You hop on a bus to the nearest park, then hop on another bus to your new resort and check-in. When you arrive back that night from the park either call for your lugage (if you're in a deluxe) or if you're at a value the luggage will already be in your room waiting for you.
