Hi after much debate we are thinking of having a split stay 4 days in contemporary & 3 days in Fort wilderness.
our agent said we have to look at it very carefully as this might Be disadvantageous financially -
We plan on purchasing the deluxe dining plan and 7 day park pass.
Any ideas why this won't work for us financially
Thx trax

The deluxe dining plan is over $100 per person per night. Are you planning to purchase it for both reservations, or only for one?

Hi we are planning to purchase it for the duration of our stay. Sorry for the delay in replying

If your agent can't explain that to you, you might want to find a different agent.

I am no expert, but I believe you have to have a ticket package to get the dining plan. If you did a split stay with the dining plan just on the first part of your stay, you could still get 7 day tickets and use them during your second resort stay. But if you want the dining plan for both reservations, you'd have to buy a ticket package with each hotel reservation. Buying a four day ticket package and a three day ticket package is much more expensive than buying a seven day ticket package.

You would probably want to do the dining plan for your first stay and pay out of pocket for your meals for the second stay.

Sometime about nine months ago, they started offering a "ticketless package" where you can book a room and dining without tickets. So, there shouldn't be any extra cost with your split stay.

I have to agree with the PP. If your agent can't explain why this would put you at a financial disadvantage, you may want to work with another agent! Is he/she concerned about the cost of deluxe dining? Or is he/she not aware of how to book this particular type of split stay?

If you've already determined the deluxe dining plan is the one you want, go for it! As another PP mentioned, you can purchase ticketless packages now, so you'd want to book the following:

First reservation: 4 days Contemporary with 7 day park pass and deluxe dining

Second reservation: 3 days at Ft. Wilderness with no tickets and deluxe dining package (these cannot be booked online. Ticketless packages have to be called in)

Have fun!

Thank you very much Supersnoop and Marthasor, now I have more options :)
