Hello all!

I just have a quick question for any experienced split site visitors.

We've never done split site before, but this time, we were considering doing 7 nights at either OKW or CBR and then doing 7 nights in the GF. However, when it came to the logistics of the thing, I was talking to a travel agent, and he said that if we wanted dining for the whole 14 nights, then we couldn't do split site as we'd have to pay for our park tickets twice. (We get the 14 for 7 ultimate)

I originally thought that we could play each resort as a separate holiday (we're getting flights separately) so my original plan was to do 7 nights OKW or CBR with DDP and then when we moved to GF, to splurge a little and upgrade to the DxDDP for the final week of the holiday. But, according to the travel agent, this isn't possible if we want the 14 for 7 ticket.

Has anyone had experience in this area? I'm not saying I don't believe the travel agent but I just wondered if anyone had done this, or something similar, and found a way around it without having to pay for your tickets twice?

Unfortunately this is one area where Disney continues to fall short in encouraging split stays. Your dining plan is linked to park tickets and resort. Although your park tickets don't have to cover the length of stay in number of days, to add the dining plan, whether free or paid for, you have to have park tickets for each reservation where dining is added and as split stay is two (or more) separate reservations, you need to have park tickets twice.

Having had a similar challenge and forfeiting the split stay option in the past, I am considering doing a longer stay at our first resort and then adding 3 or 4 nights at a Deluxe at club level at the end without the dining plan, but booking this last segment on the US website when they release their room only discounts (hoping they cover our dates). It still works out cheaper and you don't have to buy park tickets again for it. I can't think of any other way to work it.
