Split stays with free dining

I'm thinking of a split stay for our next trip. We are a family of 5. I was thinking from Oct 31st to Nov 5th staying at POR and renting points to stay at Grand Floridian from Nov 6th to the 11th. If free dining comes out the end of Oct/early Nov, would we only be able to use it during our stay at POR or could we spread the meals out throughout our whole stay? I realize we would only qualify for free dining for the nights at POR, I was just wondering if they had to be used up before staying at GF. Thanks!

Your meal entitlements currently must be used by midnight the day you check out of the resort in which your dining is attached. It would be nice if we had longer to use them though.
