during our move does disney pick-up and transpoprt our luggage to the 2nd resort. do we have to be at the resort or do they just bring it to baggage claim

Pre-covid during my split stays I would drag my luggage down to concierge and get it tagged and they would transport it. Then later that evening at my second hotel I'd call the new concierge and tell them I'd arrived so they would deliver it to my room. If this is how they still do it, expect to run on slow as molasses Disney time. Nothing will be quick. You will get annoyed waiting, but your stuff will eventually arrive.

If you aren't patient, get a Lyft/Uber and transport it yourself.

Yes, Disney will transport luggage between Disney-owned resorts.

At resort #2, to retrieve your luggage you either:

1) call bell services/luggage assistance from your room and they will bring your bags (you need to be in the room)

2) stop by bell services/luggage assistance yourself

Usually your bags won’t be at resort #2 until very late afternoon... 3pm+, although you’ll occasionally see reports of it being later.

I’d use Lyft or Uber. We haven’t done splits in a long time, pre Uber times lol. So we’d pack the night before and moving day get up early and take luggage to new resort and drop with Bell Service and then take resort bus to a park.
We like to have an afternoon break, so it was nice having our luggage there when we wanted it.

It was super easy to do a split stay even after covid.

call bell services the night before and schedule a time for them to pick up your luggage. They will come with a cart at the time and get it and then you can go off with your day.

once at the new hotel, either go to bell services or call down and they will bring your luggage to you.

if You have bell services take and bring your luggage to you, don’t forget to tip them! I was amazed at how easy disney made a split stay!

We moved twice during our November stay. When we were close to packed up I called bell services and they sent someone up. They tagged the bags and took them. We came back late afternoon, around 5 and our bags were there. The only time I've had a problem with baggage delay is in August. They won't move the baggage while there is lightening in the area so the baggage came a little late when it was stormy.
