We have reservations with the first 4 days at DR then 4 days at YC.What is the easiest way to transfer from resorts?( Luggage)

Bell Services will transfer your luggage for you. Just drop it off early on your Checkout date of the first resort and you'll have it ....probably later in the afternoon... at YC. Easy Peasy!

Has anyone been able to have Bell Services transfer your luggage since WDW reopened? A CM I spoke with via Chat said that I would have to transfer my own luggage.

Luggage transfer through Bell Services is the simplest by far, but make sure you are OK with the process.

You can drop off your luggage with Bell Services or you can have them come to your room and pick everything up. This includes any food items. Package frozen or refrigerated items separately and let Bell Services know - they will store them appropriately. You need to have your luggage with Bell Services by check out time.

At about 1 pm, the dance begins. All luggage at all resorts is picked up and taken to a central facility where it is sorted and then delivered to the new resort. The process is normally completed by 4pm. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR LUGGAGE from the time you turn your bags over to Bell Services until it arrives at the new resort around 4pm. Your bags will not be automatically delivered to your room. You will need to be in your room and call Bell Services to have them deliver them. Or, you can pick them up from Bell Services yourself if you want.

And of course, if you have Bell Services pick up or deliver your bags, remember to tip them.

Back in July, right after reopening, I did a split stay and they transferred my luggage from the fort wilderness to pop century. I’ve also heard of other people getting their luggage transferred by bell services since reopening.

Just wanted to stress @Fangorn ‘s point again about how if you let Disney move your luggage, you won’t have access to your bags until +\- 4pm’ish. You’ll occasionally hear reports of it being later.

That’s all fine and good for many, but is less ideal for others. Make sure to pack a day pack with anything you’re absolutely going to need that day while your bags are in Disney’s control.

An alternative not mentioned above is to rideshare/taxi with your bags to resort #2. If your room isn’t ready, just store your bags with bell services there. That way you control your bag transport and can always access them if needed.

Enjoy your trip!

Great! I feel much better!

Chat CMs are not good. Please trust their knowledge never again. In Nov I stayed CSR, GF & RIV. Bell services transferred my luggage each time.
Right you are in regard to the trust issue! I was going to call the hotel to verify, but I truly appreciate everyone sharing their experiences. Thanks for the reassurance.

Disney will move your luggage for a split stay currently. Its possible the CM was confused and thinking of DME luggage service or RAC luggage service, both of which are not currently available.

I agree with PP though that it might be easiest/more efficient to take 30 minutes the morning you change resorts to call an Uber with your luggage and bring it to the new resort yourself. You don't even need to go in the resort if you're in a rush - most (all?) resorts have bell services at the main entrance, so you can just drop your bags there and be on your way. I just think its best to know where your bags are, have them be accessible if needed, and know they are there when you're ready to go to your new room.

We’ll be doing a split stay with a scooter, so user Uber isn’t going to be an option for transferring luggage. Since we were planning a pool day the day we transfer from Pop to Yacht Club, if we pack a small duffle bag, will we be able to take it on the Skyliner? I understand if they wouldn’t want a suitcase on the gondolas, but a duffle with a change of clothes for us wouldn’t pose a problem, would it?

A small duffle bag 'should' be fine unless you and I have different definitions of small. It's legit luggage that is not permitted on Disney transportation, but day packs, backpacks, etc (eg, along the lines of something you'd bring in a park) are all fine.
